it had been a few days later and lennon was finally allowed to go home. the two girls had completely packed up and got ready to go back to their house in LA. when lennon was discharged, sydney had asked if she remembered anyone visting, in which lennon had no recollection of seeing anyone besides syd.

Lennon

we both say in the car with an awkward silence until my phone went off.

"syd?"
"yeah?"
"first off, why are you texting and driving? second, why did you text me a long ass video when your literally sitting right next to me?"
"its a video that you should listen to when you get free time"
"ok? can i get any type of context on it?"
"just listen to it when we get home len.. please"

i sat in confusion with the blanket over my legs as i scrolled through my phone.

it had been a long, awkward car ride with a very guilty looking sydney. we were finally home and i was back in my room. i grabbed my phone before scrolling to sydney's contact and clicking on the video. it took a minute or two of loading before it started playing.

"i dont know if your really asleep or if your fake sleeping but if you are fake sleeping then i honestly dont blame you. if i were you i wouldnt wanna talk to me either but, considering im finally seeing you in person and i dont wanna have a restraining order against me, this is the one and only time i can actually give you the apology you deserve... so im sorry len."

as the video went on, my eyes slowly began watering even more. once it ended, i walked into sydneys room.

"where did you get this?" i asked, my voice still shaking.
"while you were asleep, vinnie was there. he didnt know i was listening nor that i was there but he apologized while i was 'gone'"
"what happened when i was out?"
"lennon.."
"sydney. what happened?"
"i didnt want him seeing you anymore"
"so?"
"so i told him if he texted you or saw him again.. i would file a restraining order against him"
"your kidding right?" i nervously laughed.
"lennon, im sorry"
"please tell me your kidding"
"i was upset len, i could've lost you because of him"

i nodded, knowing it wasnt her fault before walking back into my room. i laid on my bed, listening to the video again, crying once more.

the thought that he put into a long speech, even if i was sleeping, was more than anyone has ever done for me. the fact that he promised to give me another apology was insane to me, considering he just said everything he possibly could've. the fact that he actually came to see me was enough to make me forgive him at this point. no one has ever done anything like this, not even syd.
