024. you want us to be?

"what are we now?"

the two sat in silence, lennon looking up at vinnie before sitting up. she avoided eye contact while thinking long and hard about her next answer.

"well, what do you want us to be?" lennon asked quietly.
"lennon... i've wanted you be my girlfriend for the longest time.. since we first hung out"

she sat in silence, vinnie sitting up in front of her. he examined her expression, seeing her lookign down. he softly placed his hand on her cheek before tilting her head up to look at him.

their foreheads pressed together as she closed her eyes, thinking about what to say next.

"im not gonna push you or pressure you into giving me an answer right now.."
"i promise.. i promise i'll have an answer by tonight"
"lennon you dont have to"
"no no, i promise" she said softly as he nodded before pressing his lips to her forehead.

lennon was back home, pacing in her room as sydney watched.

"dude stop it, your making me nervous"
"how do you think i feel?? vinnie just asked me to be his girlfriend!"
"wait, he did?"
"yes!"
"finally, i thought he'd never grow the balls to ask"
"for fucks sake! i wanna say yes of course because like, look at him. but-"
"but you dont want it to be the same as what happened with brandon" syndey finished as lennon stopped pacing and sat on her led, looking down before looking over at syndey.
"exactly" she whispered.
"vinnie wouldnt use you like that. he deserves you lennon. he cheated on you and could have easily walked out and never spoke to either of us again. but he didnt. he apologized to the both of us and now look at you guys. he's clearly in love with you. anyone who sees the way he looks at you would be able to tell. i promise you, this could be a good thing for the both of you. vinnie wouldnt hurt you like he did. brandon was a piece of shit who didnt deserve you but vinnie? he really loves you"

syd walked out of lennons room, leaving her all alone as she flopped onto the bed. of course she wanted to say yes but there seemed as there something holding her back. more like someone.

of course vinnie wasnt like her ex nor has he treated her like her ex. but still, she didnt want to go through something like that. yes, she did want a toxic relationship, but as she explained it, she still wanted to feel loved. her last relationship was one sided and she couldnt put herself through something anywhere near that.

as vinnie laid in his bed, he stared up at the tapestry on his ceiling. he slightly turned his head at the sound of metal clicking together, seeing the small black haired girl placed her car keys down and kick off her shoes.

"you okay, princess?" he asked, hearing no answer.

lennon straddled his waist before wrapping his arms around her and leaning down to lay her head in the crook of his neck.

"mhm" she answered with a small nod.
"did you uh, did you think about it?"
"mhm"
"im gonna hope its a yes?" he said nervously, hearing silence for a few moments.
"mhm" she said, vinnie could feel the small smile grow against his skin and his arms wrapped tigher around her.
