Don't Think about Being Petted

Author's Note: Lowkey wanted to make a good title that foreshadowed what happened in this part. Then, I said to myself, " No, make it about a brief joke in the very opening of the story." 

 That's my brain for ya. 

 Anyways, I'm got a decent amount of this story written, and the oneshots I'm doing are now the ones that'll take a bit to write. By a decent amount, I mean I have two more parts fully written. 

 Yeah. This part itself isn't actually that long. I decided to split it into two after seeing how long it wouldn't been, and I also really enjoy cliffhangers, ya know?

 Grian's POV:

 I let out a loud, angry hiss as we, being Scar, Void, Etho, and myself surrounded the cat lady that trapped me in the body of a fluffy, winged cat. My tail thrashed as the hackles on my back raised as I continued to hiss. 

 " You've got a lot of things to answer for..." Etho narrowed his eyes as he raised one of his glowing hands. The rest of us nodded, " That's right." Scar nodded his head, " First things first, you need to turn Grian back to normal." he put his non-weapon holding hand onto my head and patted it. 

 My tail twitched.

 Really Scar? 

 This is not the time to touch my fur. Even if it does feel nice in the end... 

 I shook my head and refocused on the situation at hand. 

 Don't think about getting petted.

 Don't think about getting petted.

 My ears went back as I meowed and hissed. I looked at the woman as she let out a sly laughter. The lady looked at all four of us with her arms crossed and one singular sharp nail against the very tip of her chin. 

 " It would seem like I am really surrounded..." The lady purred, " Unless," she started to laugh as she charged straight towards Etho. 

 Void quickly fired an arrow and the woman slashed through it with her claws while laughing even more. My ears went back as I climbed off of Scar and desperately tried to get in between the woman and Etho before she struck. 

 Sadly, it wasn't my eyes that were messing with me like Void and Scar believed. No, no, it was this stupid four-legged body. How does Doc and Ren even do this?!

 I hissed and continued to waddle towards the two with a fiery determination. I looked up at the cat lady as she avoided Etho's ice magic with horrid accuracy before planting her clawed hands against his temples causing his eyes to glow. 

 Etho's whole body tensed up as his magic fizzled out. Void readied another arrow causing the cat lady to turn and hiss at him, " If you value your friend's life, you will allow me to finish..." she spoke slyly causing Void to keep his arrow up. 

 In the end, Void wasn't budging in this situation. The lady should've expected this to happen. The two kept staring at each other as the room was plagued with silence so dense that even if a pin dropped you wouldn't hear it.

 The lady let out another growl as she turned towards Etho as the hermit struggled against her. Etho tried to move as his muscles started to tense up as a strange blue magic came out from his temples and into the woman's arms. 

 " Two down...." I heard the woman purr; I don't think that the others heard it. 

 I narrowed my eyes.

 This was my chance to get my human body back!

 Quickly but awkwardly, I dug my sharp nails into the woman's legs causing her to screech and try to kick me off. I continued to dig my nails into her bare leg and tried to bite.

 " I won't give baCK THIS NEW FORM THAT EASILY!" The woman yelled as she sharply kicked her leg causing me to be flung off at a high velocity. I hissed loudly until a pair of arms grabbed me out of midair. 

 Everything was swirling like I was inside of one of those spinning cup rides as my head swayed slightly. My tail swished as I put my head against whoever caught me. 

 " MrrroooeoeoeoOEooeeow." I made the only noise that I could muster at the moment. A soft buzz came from above me, " You alright Grian?" Void questioned, " Mrrroe?" I tried to shake my head. Even with my eyes closed, I could still feel the dizziness overwhelming me. 

 Void let out a sigh, " I'll take that az a 'No'." the brother grumbled, " Anywayz, Zcar is chazing after the cat lady currently."

 I nodded my head. Slowly, I opened my eyes and looked up towards the bee hybrid. Void frowned as his antennae twitched, " Unfortunately, the lady ztole one of Etho'z choruz fruitz."

 My ears twitched. 

 Great. 

 Great.... She's going to get away again! 

 How does someone move so quickly that they can so easily overwhelm us? 

 I turned my head towards Etho and noticed how his body was slowly moving towards Beef's sleeping form. My ears twitched again as I reached my paw out towards the hermit. 

 Void looked over towards the two and frowned as he flew to the ground and put me onto the base of the cold fountain. I shuddered slightly. Even through all this fur, the fountain was still incredibly cold. 

 Maybe even more so now that Etho's powers may have been drained from him. 

 Speaking of Etho, the hermit was still crawling towards Beef with a strong determination despite his weakened body. 

 Void walked over to Etho and gently scooped him up, " Hmmmmm." Etho let out a strained sound as he was carried over to Beef and laid against him. Etho slowly opened his color-drained eyes and wearily looked at the two of us.

 " F-Find...." Etho started to speak, " F-Find.... Cubfan...." he choked out as he slipped back into his own weakened sleep.
