A/N: This is a very long chapter, but worth writing. Enjoy!
Brent opened the door early the next morning so Kiara could go to class. She was already dressed and ready to go. As soon he opened the door, she jumped him.
Cathy watched her cousin jump on Brent's back and proceeded to beat his head and pull his hair. Brent staggered around the room trying to get her off yelling at Cathy to help him. She just sat there and smiled in revenge while Scott who appeared during the commotion recorded them on his cell phone laughing the entire time.
Brent ended up tripping over his own feet and falling to the floor on his face with Kiara still on top of him. She got off him and kicked him in the butt before running away. Cathy sat there watching him curiously.
Scott put his phone in his pocket. "Yo...you ok, buddy?" he asked.
"Go to hell," Brent told him.
Scott laughed and walked away.
Brent slowly raised his head and stared at Cathy. "Your cousin is a little hellcat."
"Did she hurt you?" Cathy asked.
"No, but my scalp is hurting." Brent got up rubbing his head. He looked at Cathy. She had changed into the clothes her mother had packed for her. She wore a pretty ruffled green skirt that came to her knees and a delicate white blouse. Her hair was pulled in a side ponytail and rested on her shoulder. As pretty as she looked, she was still very pale.
"You look nice. Please tell me you're not trying to go to class..." Brent said.
"I can't find my sweats and old jeans. I think my mom threw them away while she was packing my stuff. And yes, I was attempting to..." Cathy told him.
"You're not well enough to...."
"Don't you dare, Brent Jaggers, I may not have the energy to attack you like Kiara, but I can definitely give you the silent treatment. It's bad enough that you and my mom are forcing me to stay here, but you can't stop me from going to class, if you do, there will be hell to pay for both of you."
Brent sighed. "Ok, when is your first class?"
"Since it's Tuesday, I only have one class and it's at ten am," Cathy told him.
"Great! Come on, I've already fixed you breakfast." He took her hand and gently pulled her up.
He led her into the living room and then into the kitchen. She looked around. The place was huge, spacious, with columns. "Is this a dormitory or a luxury apartment complex?" she asked, amazed at how he was living.
"Both," Brent grinned.
"No wonder you freaked out when you saw my old dormitory room...it looks like we were living in a box compared to this. And it's co-ed right? Dana, Sheila and Faze lives here too?"
"Yes, they live down the hall. All of my friends occupy this floor."
"I see," Cathy said as she sat at the kitchen counter and stared at all the food Brent had made. Pancakes, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, a fruit salad, and a jug of orange juice sat in front of her.
Brent gave her a plate. "Dig in."
Cathy just stared at the food with wide eyes. He took the plate and loaded it with food and gave it to her. "Eat...don't make me feed you because I will."
Cathy blushed and took the plate. He watched her until she began to eat and then fixed his own. "Ok, this is really, really good!" Cathy said in surprised as she stuffed her mouth. "How did you learn to cook like this?"
