Sunday morning Cathy awakened with Brent still wrapped around her. His head was once again lying on her chest.
"I'll never get used to this," Brent whispered suddenly.
She thought he was still asleep.
"It scares the shit out of me, it feels like you're one heartbeat away from slipping from me. Like I could lose you at any second."
"What a thing to say first thing in the morning? Don't I get a good morning, at least? So morbid!" Cathy tried to push his head away from her chest.
"Promise me, you'll never leave me," Brent said stubbornly refusing to move. "I just got you in my life." He held her tighter.
"Brent, please tell me you were not up all-night stressing over my heart. Did you listen to it the entire night while I slept?"
"I slept," Brent said. "Off and on..."
Cathy gave him a suspicious look.
He quickly got up and kissed her lips. "I need to take a shower. Why don't you relax until I come out and then you can take one."
Cathy watched him walk into the bathroom. She wondered how long it was going to take him to get over his fear. She walked into the bathroom to brush her teeth while he took a shower. Brent peeked at her from behind the shower door.
Cathy giggled. "What are you doing?"
"I can't believe you're in here...using my bathroom, I mean our bathroom, like a normal actual couple."
Cathy couldn't help but laugh. This was so unlike him to be so giddy.
"Don't laugh at me!" he pretended to scold her. "I love you!" He slammed the door shut and went back to showering.
Cathy couldn't help smiling at the silly man as she continued to brush her teeth. She also couldn't help peeping at his silhouette in the shower either. Brent Jaggers taking a shower in front of her, all naked and wet, with rivulets of water running down that ripped body...all she had to do was pulled back the glass door and step in and do...what exactly? She wasn't exactly skilled in seducing men, especially men like him. She had to admit that one of her biggest fantasies was doing it in the shower with him. He was so close...yet so far away! She shook her head and started brushing her teeth a little more vigorously.
A few minutes later, Brent came into the bedroom with only a towel wrapped around his waist. Cathy's mouth dropped open. She was sitting on the bed trying to debate about using his shower or walking back to the dorm to use her own when he surprised her walking out. His curly locks of hair still wet from the shower had been slicked back showing off his beautiful masculine features, his strong jaw line, his cheek bones, the deep set of his dark blue eyes...the man looked like a second version of Henry Cavill.
Once again, she asked herself how did she end up with a man like him?
"Your turn," he told her with a grin. "I left some hot water for you."
Cathy stood up still staring at him. "Thanks," she mumbled. Why the heck wasn't she jumping his bones right now? She thought to herself as she walked in.
Brent couldn't help but chuckled from the way she was looking at him. He wasn't naïve about his looks and knew all women found him attractive, but the only one that mattered was Cathy and she had no clue how to hide what she was thinking. Her expression turned him on and made him feel like he was the only man in the world she'd ever look at that way. He grinned, his ego soaring...
Then he realized, if he stayed, she was going to step into the bedroom dressed only in a towel like he was. He'd go crazy if he saw her like that and forget his promise about taking his time with her. He hurriedly put on some clothes and left the bedroom. Knowing the temptation would be too much for him..
