Chapter 8

Vela's pov

I gasped for air. I sat up, panting like i had just woken up from a nightmare.
I ran my fingers through my hair, trying to calm down.
What in the world just happened.....
I closed my eyes, focusing on my breathing. I took deep breaths as my body relaxed. My eyes opened again as I checked my surroundings. I was on rocks, a mountain I think. Everything was cloudy, or foggy, I couldn't really tell. I stood up and looked around. It was a cloudy pale blue sky, the sunbeams almost blinding my sight as they reflected on the clouds. "Hello?" I said out loud. My call was just like an echo is this place. ".....Hellooooooooo??? Anyone?!" I called out again, but only silence awaited me. "....WHERE THE FUCK AM IIIIIIIII???" I screamed out but still nothing. I tried to remember what happened, but it was no use. A sudden deep growl sent a shiver down my spine. I felt the air move around me. I looked around, fear rising in me as i didn't knew what the noise was. Another movement cought my attention. I carefully walked to the edge, trying to look what was surrounding me, but before I could reach the edge....
FWOOOOSSSSHHHH
A dragon suddenly flew up, making me yelp in surprise. My eyes widen at the sight of the creature. It flapped it's four giant wings a few times, staring towards me with it's deep blue eyes. With another flap, the dragon landed right infront of me making me stagger back, trying not to fall over. A deep purr came from the dragon as it looked me up and down, before walking a circle around me. My heart was beating so loud it could have ripped out of my body as i followed the dragons steps. It was a big one, maybe three or four times the size of a Monstrous Nightmare, and definitely a species I've never saw before. It had a long elegant body, with two long tails, and four wings. The head was slim and rather long, probably the size of a full grown men without counting the two long pointy horns. It's claws where long and sharp, making the four talons look more dangerous. It had a few unusual features as well. The dragon was fully black, except a hint of dark and light blue, but it didn't seem to have many scales. Most of the dragon was only skin, with spikes that ran down it's neck, but a fin down to the base of it's tail. The most weird thing was that it had fur at the back of it's head and shoulders.
The wings where different from each other. The bigger pair had black bones, with black from the outside, but shades of blue on the inside. The smaller pair of it's wings were completely white with shiny white feathers on the outside, the same feathers where on both tips if the tail. Some silver diamond shaped scales ran down it's body, sparkling with every move.
.....it's beautiful...
Those where the only thoughts that ran through my mind as i looked at the dragon. "E-easy big guy...." I carefully reached my hand out, but i only heard another deep purr. The dragons mouth changed.....into a smile? "Hello Vela....it's nice meeting you for real this time" a female voice spoke up. The dragon sat down, it's tails curling around her front paws. I froze. "....your female?" "Isn't that obvious? And that's seriously the first thing you ask? What, is that a normal trait of you to first start to assume someone's gender?" "W-wait i didn't ....." "Noooooo, of course you didn't mean that!" She threw her head back, looking up at the sky as she scoffed. "...l-listen, i really didn't mean that....i-i just wasn't sure....I'm sorry" i Mumbled, playing with my fingers as i looked up to the unknown dragon. She looked down at me and smiled, her talon reaching out for me. I stepped back but she only gave me a soft nudge. "Your a funny one. Now try again. Ask me something more usefull" she snickered. I pouted "where are we?" "Not what I expected, but on the good way. Try again" i rose my eyebrow "uuhhh....what is this place?" "Nononono, not quite right and basically the same question like before!" "....who are you?" "FINALLY!" She smirked. "That took you long enough. My name is Saoirse*,
your dragon guardian and from now on stuck to your side forever!" I blinked at her with confusion.
Soooo.....she basically wants me to be her rider...?"
"Uh...fine with me...?" I told her and looked around. "Where are we?" I asked again. "Well.... I don't know that but at the same time I know!". I looked up at her with confusion. She pointed at my head. "We are both in your mind, your body is unconscious at the moment, but your spirit is free!" I looked even more confused up at the dragon. "....if we are in MY mind....why are YOU here?"
Saoirse sighed. "We are bound Vela. Bound by a special power and....let's say a pact."
"A pact i didn't sign?"
"You were younger Vela...if i didn't step in, you wouldn't have died...."
"D-died? B-but how, what are you..."
And then it hit me like a brick.
"...The fact i can't remember my childhood..." I gasped, looking up at her. "Y-you know something! You know something i don't, do you?" Saoirse smiled, her head leaned down, closer to mine. "your waking up soon..."
"THAT'S NOT AN ANSWER! TELL ME! Where do i come from, why do i have these Powers???" i yelled at her, but she only smiled, touching my head with her snout. "I will answer when the time is right..."

And then I woke up.

That took longer.
Sorry guys, school made me really busy.

But i (almost) have vacations now!
Just gotta work, but at least i have more free time!
