Vela's pov

After the beginning of our... 'Friendship'(?) he told me a bit about himself. How his mother passed away, how Ansson bullies him, how everyone disliked him. I did feel pity. I didn't really forgive him for his actions, but I do understand. I think. He suddenly jumped up and yelled "come with me!" then he ran away. I followed him as quickly as possible, but I had no shoes, so it hurt running on the stones. He ran up a hill into the forest. "D-dagur! *gasp* wait for me!". After a while, I did manage to get to him. He was standing next to a large tree, with a small hut next to it. I collapsed, gasping for air. "congratulations!" he said. I looked at him, confused "what?". "you completed the test! Welcome to the Deranged club!". I stared at him.
Maybe it was a mistake to be friends with him...
He then took a knife and gave it to me. "and now, you should scratch your name into the tree bark to complete the ceremony.
OK, it was a mistake to be friends with him.
I took the knife and went to the tree. I already saw something scribbled on it, but I couldn't read it. And then I realized.
" I don't know how to write" I told him. He gave me a look that read the same thing he said to me.
"are you stupid?".
He snatched the knife out of my hand and scratched my name, into the tree bark. I looked at the symbols "is this how you write 'Vela?'". He chuckled "yep!".
Well, I found out later that he scratched 'Idiot' into the tree bark.

We went back to Oswald and Taraji (who where having a panic attack because I just disappeared, I can't blame them). After finding me, making sure I was alright, Taraji gave me a bath before Sarah gave me my new outfit. It was a black legging with a skirt above and a blue shirt. I absolutely loved it!

A few weeks passed and I started to settle in. Taraji was kind enough to me to let me stay in her house. I sometimes saw Ansson on the street, but as soon as he saw me, he turned away quickly and walk away.
But one day, me and Dagur had an argument. "YOU LOST MY DAGGER!". "I DIDN'T EVEN TOUCHED IT YOU SQUIDBRAIN!" I yelled back. He lost it, and now blames me. "AND BY THE WAY, I'M NOT YOUR SLAVE!" I kicked him on the shin before I ran away in the forest. I ran and ran, tears falling down my cheeks. At one point, I just stopped running and continued walking, whipping away my tears. "stupid, stupid, stupid Dagur!" I yelled out my frustration. "EEEEEEPP" something suddenly squeaked back at me. "EEEEEPPPPPP!" I yelled in fear while hiding behind a tree. My heart was pumping out of my chest. "EEEEEEEP?" it squeaked back. I looked from behind the tree. I heard it squeak again, and with the little courage I had at that time, I walked towards the noise. I came closer and then found a beutifull place with a cave and a river close by. "Woooooowwwww!" I gasped with excitement. It looked amazing! "EEEEEEEEEEPPPPPP!" suddenly, something crashed out of the bushes next to me. I screamed, petrified and landed on the floor. I covered myself, trying to cover every inch of my body. But nothing happend. I looked, and saw a small black and blue creature on the ground." eep? " it said, staring at me with its yellow eyes, tilting it's head. I looked up to get a closer look on it, it was flat in its stomach, laying there, but in an unusual position. I instantly knew that it was a dragon. The snout, tail and wings gave it away. Starting at it, I noticed it was tied up. "oh, you poor thing!" I said, crawling closer to it. It suddenly looked angry and hissed at me. "I-i-it's OK!" I said with a shaking voice. I carefully streached out my hand to let it sniff me. But it snapped at me. I quickly pulled back my hand. But in shook, I noticed it's rips where showing. It even looked exhausted. "y-you have been here a while, right?". It looked up to me, sadness written in its eyes. I got up and went to the river to get some water. I didn't have a bowl with me, so I used my hands. With the little water I could carry, I got back, kneeled down and gave it to the little creature. It seemed very suspicious, but soon started drinking. I repeated that 5 or 6 times, but it seemed to be happy. "o-okay little one. Im going back to the village to get you something to eat. And a knife to cut the ropes!" I stood up "u-uhm... Wait here!". I ran back to the village as fast as possible. Arriving there, I went to the storage room, to get some dried meat and a few fish. I got out of the back door and then looked for the knife. I actually wanted to stea... borrow one, but on the way there, I saw something shiny and sparkling on the ground. It was Dagur's knife. "ha! Found it!" I said with a smirk, making my way back to the forest. Thank god Dagur showed me some tricks and hiding spots around the village. Reaching the dragon by midday, almost dusk, I put down the things I got. I took the dried meat, ripped it into a smaller piece and gave it to it. It sniffed at it, carefully took it from my shaking fingers and chewed in it. It didn't really like the meat that much, but the pieces of salmon I had where gone in no time. While it was eating, I cleaned my fishy smelling hands in the river and went back to see a satisfied little creature with nothing left.
It let out a small burping sound, which made me laugh.
But then came the next obstacle... freeing the dragon. With shaking hands, I reached out for the dragon's head, trying to gain its trust. It sniffed my hand for a long time, but then it leaned forward to lick my fingers. "there, see? I'm not bad" I started crowling it behind the spikes, which made it purr. I then tried to untangle the ropes, but I needed the knife. While cutting the ropes, the dragon squeaked and complained, but after alot of struggle, it was free at last. The small creature took a few steps, then looked at me with its big yellow eyes. "your free!" I said with a big smile. It wobbled towards me, and nudged me with its head. "there there..." I patted its head, feeling a warm and comforting wave of heat spreading my body. I closed my eyes, enjoying the feeling when I heard something crackling and a sparking feeling short through my body. Opening my eyes, the small creature was sitting on my lap, and small lightning sparks zapped through its body. The lightning sparks of the beast lit the place, which was already dark from the lack of sunshine. It looked at me again, starring into my eyes. I then noticed, that the creature stopped zapping, but the sounds and light where still there. I looked at my hands and saw... That I was the one who was lighting up the place. I started panicking, but the sparking soon stopped. The warm and sparking feeling dissappeard as well.
What was that....
I focused on my hands, trying to make it spark again. I focused on the warm feeling, sending it to my small and shaking hands, and a small ball of lightning appeard on my hand.
"wow...." me and the creature stared at it for a long time.
"Vela!?"
I jumped up in shook. I turned around to see Oswald, starring at me.
"D-did you... What did... How...." he stuttered. "I don't know! I...." the creature growled at him. "by Odins beard... That's a Skrill!" he said, walking towards us. I didn't know what or how to react, so I took the creature and hugged it, protecting it from him. "I-it isn't dangerous!" I yelped. He kneeled in front of me "I never said that... But what a magnificent dragon..." he reached out, trying to touch it, but the dragon snapped back.  "where did you find her?" he asked me. So the dragon was female. "r-right here, she was tied up" I replied, pointing at the ropes. I released the Skrill, but she stumbled behind me, hiding from Oswald while growling at him. "Vela... Can you show me again what you did?". I looked at him with confusion. "the lightning... What you just did" he pointed at my hands. I nodded, smiling and cupped my hands again. Focusing again on the energy flowing through my body, collecting in my hands and creating another energy ball. It was small, like the last one. Oswalds eyes widden, starring at the small lightnings. But I coudlt hold it for long, and it disappeared. I then got up, picking up the Skrill. "I meed to show Taraji and Dagur!" I squeaked in excitement. "Nonono, Vela wait!" Oswald grabbed me by the shoulders. "you can't do that!". I then asked him why. There was a long pause between us. He offered to explain it to me. I left the dragon there by the cave and river, promissing her that I will come back. We then both walked to the village, where he told me the story of the berserker tribe. How dragons and vikings couldn't get along, how he wanted to restore peace between the two species, that the Skrill was a symbol of the berserker. And that a viking would kill a dragon at sight. He then kneeld in front of me. "Vela, promise me something". I nooded, and he raised his little finger. "you can't tell anyone about that skrill. Not Taraji, not Dagur. It's a secret between us, ok?" I raised my finger as well, hooking and guaranteeing him. "and Vela. You shouldn't do that again. The lightning". He took my hands and cupped it in between his. "promise me you won't use it again. Please Vela.". I didn't understand why he didn't want me to use my powers at that time. But I trusted him.
"I promise"
