Vela's pov

As i walked into the arena, most of the students where already there. As i walked into the line, one of them, Halffrik snorted: "look who decided to come". I glared at him: "save our words for someone else Halffrik". "Pfff, Just because you're aperantly special, you think you can do whatever you want". "Oh just shut your mouth or I'm taking that mace from behind your back and stuff it down your troat". He came closer to me and snorted back at me. He may seem a buff guy, but he just thinks with his muscles. "Little Vela thinks she's strong enough to do such thing to me, huh?". Before I could tackle him down, take that mace and stuff it up somewhere else, the teacher arrived and stepped between us, breaking the fight. I gave them a last warning glared as he stuck his tounge out to me, smirking with delight. I scoffed and took my place next to Dagur. "Don't worry, we can still penetrate him later" he whispered to me.
The teacher explained us our task:
A scouting tour at night but this time, it was about defense. We only get to use a dagger and we had to survive the night. Not only that, we had to get a scale of at least 3 different dragons. Which sounds easy.
As we paired in groups, Ansson came up to me. "You know, maybe we should...." "Dagur, get your dagger, we are moving." I turned around, ignoring him as Dagur followed me, raising his middle fingers at him. We arrived at the forest and continued our walk into the night.

It took a while, but Dagur managed to find a trail of a deadly nadder nearby. After walking some more, a thunder was heard. I looked up and noticed the skies becoming darker as small drips or rain strated to fall. "....ugh, there are only some shedded scales here." Dagur scoffed, as he picked them up while i checked the surrounding. The trail seemed to stop near the scales, pointing to the fact that the dragon probably flew away.

We then managed to find yet another trail, leading to more shedded scales. "What the hell, where's that dang dragon?!" He hissed as the rain started to poured down stronger, and picked them up again "... don't you think it's weird?". "Wierd in what way?". "This is the second time we find shedded scales. Not only that, by a trail that looks really weird and way to short for both dragons to walk to nowhere and shed some scales...." "Pfff, your making things up! Or...." He suddenly leaned closer to me, narrowing his eyes "your hiding something" "....w...what does that have to do with weird dragon behavior?"
"I don't know!" He turned back laughing as he went deeper into the forest. Truth was, i did hide alot for him. But what was truly worrying me wasn't the unusual patterns, but the fact we where close to Elektra's hiding spot. I crossed my fingers she wasn't flying or hunting right now. The rain became stronger from time to time, the skies turning darker, flashing up when lightning lit up the surrounding.  At one point, there where even viking footprints to see. Dagur didn't notice though, he only jumped into every bush when he heard or saw something moving.
We haven't talked much, and when we found a third footprint, this time of a nightmare, Dagur had high hopes for this one. I followed his lead, resting my hand on my dagger as he suddenly stopped as i bumped into him. "Dagur? What's wrong?" I tilted my head at him. He looked at me over his shoulder and cleared his throat before turning to me. I looked up to him, confusion written on my face. "So....uhm ....Vela....." He scratched his and i blinked at him. "We uh.
.know each other quite a long time now...." "Talk a little louder, i can't really understand you" The rain made it a little hard for me to understand him" "we know each other now for quite some time already!" He said louder. "I uh....was wondering...." Another lighting lit up and i blinked as I saw something flash behind the bushes where Dagur had his back turned to. "Like, you don't have to, but i would....you know, really like to...." I raised my hand to silence him. I stepped closer and stood on my toes to look over his shoulder. "Uh...Vela? What are you...." As i looked closer and realized what i saw, my eyes widden. Without thinking, i pushed Dagur aside, as he yelped a protest in surprise. I looked up and before I could react further, an arrow shot out of the bushes, hitting me in my shoulder.

I felt like everything went in slower at that point. I stumbled back, my hands reaching to the arrow. Dagur screamed my name, but at the same time, i couldn't hear it. No scream left my mouth as I realized I got impaled, but i was in to big of a shook. I snapped out the trance as I felt Dagur's hands on me, shaking me back to reality. We both looked at the direction from where the arrow came from, as we heard commands and rustling all around us when unfamiliar men came out and stormed toward us.
