Chapter Eight

The following day Ami got up bright and early to see if Seokjin had posted the results but sadly she had to wait a couple more hours, so she and Mina attended their morning classes.

Though Ami couldn't focus since all she could think of were the results. Ami was zoning in and out of class. She didn't know what was going on in class, she did manage to hear Professor Flitwick ask if anyone wanted to run something down to the library for him and Ami jumped in her seat, immediately volunteering.

She knew Taehyung was usually in the library around this time and she wanted an excuse to go see him, even if they don't talk as much. It couldn't hurt to watch him from afar. Plus she can make a quick stop to Hufflepuff's common room after and see if the results are out.

Mina gave her a knowing look and chuckled at her, Ami grinned at her and waved. "See you later." Mina nodded her head waving back. "I want all the details later."

Ami hummed a tune as she made her way downstairs to the library excited. 'Maybe I'll just ask him out first.' Ami thought to herself as she bit her bottom lip. Soon she entered the library and looked around for a tall blonde haired boy. She looked through each section when she finally spotted him. A big smile spread across her face.

She took a deep breath gathering her courage and slowly walked towards him but suddenly stopped once she saw he wasn't alone. There with him was a female student, she looked up at him batting her lashes and bit her lip trying to seem shy. "Hey Taehyung, I was wondering.... well, I know you and your friends have been hanging out with these two girls, what were their names again? Oh yes, Ami and Mina. Well I just wanted to know if you were dating one of them or if you have a girlfriend or is there someone you like?"

Ami stood real still clutching onto the books she brought and held her breath trying to listen. She hoped he would say yes and that she was the one he liked, but instead he sighed and said no. He then looked away and saw Ami standing a few feet from them. He was surprised to see her standing there and hoped she didn't hear their conversation but with her facial expression he knew she heard.

Ami quickly turned around and walked away feeling hurt for some reason. She knew he didn't like her. I mean they hardly had chances to talk. But deep down she hoped that he had feelings for her too. "Ahh..." Ami sniffled and walked away. "Where is Madam Pince."

As she rounded the corner she almost ran into a smirking Serena. "How does it feel to be rejected by the guy you like." She laughed and Ami rolled her eyes.  "I don't know what you're talking about." She said, trying to push past her but Serena blocked her way and stepped closer to Ami, looking into her eyes and scoffed. "Please, everyone can tell you have a crush on him... What? did you think he'd ever be interested in someone like you." She looked at her blue eye then brown eye. "I mean just look at you."

She laughed and whispered in her ear. "Pathetic." Before bumping her shoulder and walking off to continue with her research. Normally Ami would have just ignored her or insulted her back but Serena got her where it hurts, flashbacks to when she was younger flooded her mind, reminding her why she always kept her eyes a secret.

She stood there for a second holding back her tears. "This isn't the place to cry, don't let her get to you." She said to herself. Ami closed her eyes, took a deep shaky breath forcing her emotions back in. She doesn't like to seem weak in front of people which is why she acts tough sometimes but when she's alone she lets her emotions out.

She finally saw Madam Pince across the library as Taehyung was walking towards her. Her eyes widened' 'He didn't hear any of that right!' She thought to herself cringing. "That would be so embarrassing." She turned the other way and quickly ran away and returned the books to Madam Pince and ran out of the library before Taehyung could catch up with her.

Ami didn't want to go back to class because she knew once Mina saw her, she'd know something was wrong. She'll have to tell her later but for now she wanted to be alone, so she made her way to the Magical Creatures Reserve to go visit her favorite hippogriff. "Ami." She heard someone call out to her and she looked around before spotting Hoseok.

"Hobi... Hey, what are you doing out here?" She gave him a big smile.

"I was going to ask you the same thing." He laughed

"Oh.." Ami let out a nervous chuckle. "I ran an errand for Professor Flitwick. I was just heading back to class." Ami lied and hoped he wouldn't question her.

Hoseok felt like something was wrong but he could tell she didn't want to speak of it and since she was heading the opposite way from Flitwick's class. He decided to play along. "Ahh okay.. Well I'll see you later. Seokjin will be posting the results soon so make sure to check." He gave her a big smile and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Good luck!"

Ami smiled and thanked him and they went their separate ways. Soon she was at the reserve and she smiled at the sight of buckbeak. "I've missed you! I'm sorry I haven't come to visit you as often." She hugged the hippogriff and he chirped excitedly.

She sat on the floor picking at the grass and the hippogriff sat behind her so she could lay on him. He nudged her as if sensing something was upsetting her and she smiled at the beast. "I'll be okay buddy." He let out a chirp and cuddled onto her side. She let out a yawn "You're pretty warm and comfortable. I'll just take a quick nap. Wake me up if someone comes." The hippogriff pulled her in protectively and covered her with its wing as she drifted off into sleep.

Mina knew something was wrong the minute Ami didn't come back for the rest of her classes. She texted her a few times and when she didn't respond back, Mina tried not to think the worst. If anything, she was with Buckbeak so she was in good hands so to speak which is where she decided to go.

She made sure to not be seen by anyone but that failed when Yoongi appeared next to her, asking where she was headed. She hesitated for a moment but explained the whole situation. Yoongi and Jimin were the only two who knew about their little secrets so she wasn't worried about getting caught or in trouble.

It was quiet on the way there, Yoongi taking glances at Mina every now and then as he debated on whether he should ask her a certain question that had been weighing heavily on his mind. It wasn't his right to know and she didn't have to answer if she didn't want to but damn it was he curious. It was hard to tell too because she always wore her hair down which hid her ears.

"Are you deaf?" He blurted out without realizing, causing the two of them to stop as she looked up at him with wide eyes. When he realized what he said, he immediately regretted it and started to apologize, hanging his head low as he cursed himself internally for being so stupid.

It was silent for a good two solid minutes before she finally spoke.

"Yes I am. In one ear and I'd like that to stay between just the two of us please if that's possible. I know it's nothing to be ashamed of but it's something personal that only Ami knows about. I'll tell you when the time is right." Mina said softly before she started walking again, Yoongi not that far behind her.

When they found Ami, Mina made sure to keep Yoongi a good distance from Buckbeak seeing as how the creature wasn't acquainted with him just yet. When Buckbeak sensed someone and saw that it was Mina, he undercovered his wings revealing a very sleeping Ami. That just made Mina laugh.

"Ami. Wake up. Classes are over now. You slept the day away." Mina said as she crouched down in front of her friend, waiting for her to wake up. Ami was a heavy sleeper and she absolutely hated being woken up no matter what time it was. She definitely wasn't a morning person either. Neither was Mina.

"Go away." Ami grumbled out, curling in closer to Buckbeak as she let out a small whine. It took her a minute to recognize whose voice that was and when she did, she shot straight up as she let out a few curses, blinking the sleep away from her eyes. Her hair stood in different directions earning a few laughs from the couple in front of her.

"I slept the whole day? And missed all my classes? Shit. This isn't going to be good." Ami said in frustration as she ran her fingers through her hair while trying to fix it properly.

"I should have known it was you who was feeding this creature. You three. In my office now." Came the voice of Professor Snape. Three pairs of eyes landed on the figure and standing next to him with a victorious smirk on their lips was none other than Serena. She had ratted them out.
