Chapter Ten

Since the incident last night, the rest of Quidditch tryouts were rescheduled to today and instead of holding separate tryouts each day like they were supposed to, they had to do it all in one day.

Classes were canceled to give them all day to finish tryouts. No students were allowed to wander at night after eight pm until they figured out what was happening.

There have been many rumors going around but no one was sure what happened.
Some heard that it was a prank from a first year while others heard that an animal snuck in and attacked the first year. Everyone was anxious to find out what happened.

Everyone who wanted to try out was at the quidditch field. Slytherin and Hufflepuff had just finished with their tryouts so they headed back to their house changing rooms while Ravenclaw and Gryffindor finished with their tryouts.

Their first Quidditch match was coming up on the 17th of November, which was two weeks from now so they had plenty of time to practice before the match. Followed by their second match on December 24 and then the Yule ball on Christmas Day.

Professor McGonagall took names of the students who wanted to stay over the Christmas holidays and those who left returned January 1st.

The Yule ball was for 4th years and up unless invited by a 4th year and up. Everyone was excited for the ball, it's all everyone ever talked about. That is before the incident, now it's a mixture of both.

It was 11am so those who weren't at tryouts were at lunch or studying.

Ami told Mina to stay at the dorm or do whatever she wanted to do while she was at tryouts so the loud noises wouldn't hurt her hearing again and she reluctantly agreed. After everyone was finished changing they met up with Seokjin at the blackboard as usual.

He told everyone how great they played and that the results would be out by 2, that way when Gryffindor and Ravenclaw finished their tryouts at 1 they could all post the list at the same time.

"Alright Jin, Hobi, I'll see you guys later." Ami said, waving as she headed out of the dressing room. They both called out a "see yah" and she headed out with the rest of her teammates. She was chatting with Chan when one of his friends came over.

Ami had seen him around a couple of times. He's in seventh year and one of Slytherins beaters. "Good game guys." He smiled then looked over at Ami and introduced himself. "Hey, I never introduced myself, I'm Kim Sehyoon."

"Hey." Ami blushed slightly, the guy was extremely handsome, tall with black hair. "I'm Ami, it's nice to officially meet you." She chuckled. "Good game to you guys as well."

"Sorry I almost hit you with a bludger earlier." He apologized, rubbing the back of his neck.

Ami laughed. "Oh don't worry about it, it's part of the game." More of Chan's friends showed up and Ami introduced herself to the three other guys who showed up, all three of them were in Seventh year except for Chan who was in fifth year. "I'll let you guys catch up, it was nice meeting you guys."

"See you around Ami." Chan said, waving her off. "Hmm.. I see you Sehyoon." Chan laughed and Sehyoon acted like he didn't know what he was talking about but blushed when his friends kept teasing him.

"Go on, I know you want to ask her." Chan nudged Sehyoon, which he gave in and ran after her.

Seokjin and Hoseok happened to hear them talking and they looked at each other. "Looks like Taehyung's got competition." Hoseok mumbled

Mina was at Hufflepuffs common room catching up on her studies as she waited for Ami to finish with tryouts. Mina was really smart and she was really good at making potions. While Ami wasn't all that good at studying, she hated it actually. But Mina made her study with her. Although Ami wasn't that good at studying she was really good at charms, she was more of a visual learner.

When Ami finally arrived, she opened the door and let out a defeated sigh and plopped herself down on the couch and flopped around as Mina looked at her confused. "How did tryouts go?"

"They were good."

"Then what's wrong?" Mina turned around to face Ami.

Ami let out another deep sigh and sat up. "Someone asked me to the Yule ball."

Mina gasped. "Really! Who was it and why are you sighing so much then? Shouldn't you be excited?"

Ami slouched on the couch and whined. "You know Chan, from the quidditch team." Mina nodded. "One of his friends named Sehyoon asked me once tryouts were done."

"Well...this isn't the exact reaction I'd expect from getting asked out. Let me guess. You rejected him..." Mina crossed her arms and Ami nodded. "What? why?"

"I don't know, I panicked and I told him I had someone I wanted to go with already." Ami pulled at her hair. "He was so cute too! Ugh.. why did I do that."

"Oh Ami." Mina got up and sat next to her on the couch patting her shoulder. "It's because you want to go with Taehyung."

Ami sighed again. "You heard him yesterday, he doesn't even care about it and it's going to be so embarrassing when I show up to the ball dateless."

"I'm sure he didn't mean that at all. He's probably just putting on a front. I'm sure he's going to go no matter what. You should ask him to be your date." Mina said, encouraging her friend to stay positive. "I'm hoping Yoongi asks me but I feel like that might be asking too much. Maybe I should ask him. I don't know." She sighed out afterwards.

"It seems we're both in a predicament." Ami laughed out before someone busted through the door, startling the two girls.

"It happened again! They just found another student! Outside in the quad! A third year this time too!" Said one of their classmates before they disappeared. Ami and Mina looked at each before the two of them followed suit.
