When the young girl first woke up it was quiet in the small apartment. She lay there listening to nothing, besides the occasional car passing down the street. Sunlight streamed though the window in her room, lighting up the cream colored walls.
It was on silent mornings like these that she wanted to do nothing and go back to sleep.
The teen, Yachi Hitoka, was your average girl. She had good grades, a nice home, and a few friends. While her mother was a bit distant and overbearing, she still had a warm family.
Yet there were times when the Villager B complex set in. The sinking pit in her stomach when she felt invisible, like she didn't matter. It was at those times she wanted to sleep and do nothing more.
...
Fighting against her drowsiness, Yachi continued to get up. She stumbled towards the bathroom, yawning into her dainty hands. She wanted to curse Karasuno High School for its early start time. Who in the world wants to wake up this early to learn?
She ignored the thought though and turned towards the mirror and sink, where her small blue brush lied, and gave a small giggle when she looked up.
Her blonde hair was an absolute mess. She could hear her mother scolding her in the back of her mind,
'Hitoka brush your hair for goodness sake!'
Yachi grinned at herself in the mirror, her mood boosting. She loved her mother to death, even if they were at odds at times.
Glancing at the clock on the wall Yachi continued to get ready. She was barely ever late, and even the times she was, it was only by a few minutes.
Her uniform was always layed out the night before, ready for her the next morning, along with her bag and lunch.
It made her morning easier so she wouldn't have to stress, though she did that regardless. The other highschoolers scared her senseless, simply by existing.
Humming, Yachi opened a small pink box, a smile blooming on her face. Carefully she picked out two baby blue stars, setting them gently on the table.
Adorning her side ponytail with the star clips, she looked herself over in the mirror one more time.
'Everything will be okay, I got this!'
Yachi glanced around the apartment one more time, making sure things were locked. Feeling confident, she finally headed out the doorway, slipping in an earbud.
'I should make mom's favorite for dinner later'
....
Yamaguchi woke up to his alarm blaring in his face. Rolling over he frantically pushed the silent button, letting out a tired groan.
He was regretting staying up last night to play the new levels in his favorite game (even though it was kind of worth it).
Swiping his dark green hair out of his eyes, he stared at the ceiling and watched the fan as it spun in circles.
'Mom's gonna come make me get up in 3..2..1..'
Sure enough, his predication was correct as his mother (mamaguchi) came to get the boy up.
"Tadashi dear, you need to go get ready for school. Aren't you and Kei heading over there together? She questioned. "If you keep him waiting he'll leave without you."
Yamaguchi let out a yawn and grumbled a reply.
"Ok I'll get up mom."
Smiling at her cute son, the middle-aged mother left the room to go make breakfast.
Yamaguchi on the other hand, was not that excited to be up. Inching his way across the mattress, he slowly flopped onto the floor, only to wack his foot on the nearby table.
"Frick-"
"Tadashi language!"
Yamaguchi held his foot and looked out of his bedroom's door.
"Sorry ma!"
Grimacing he bit his lip and stared at the red mark on his skin.
'How in the world did she hear from over there?'
...
Yamaguchi stared at his hair in the mirror, running a hand over the few strands that stood up. No matter what he did, one stubborn strand refused to lay down normally. Instead, it stood straight up, like an antennae.
His mom said she thought it was adorable and added to his charm, just like his freckles. Whenever she said that he just smiled and nodded. He had no idea what she was taking about, but he found it easier to just agree with her (lest he be caught in a lecture about how he should have more confidence in himself).
"Tadashi you need to go!" His mother called out. "I made you some toast to take with you!"
Yamaguchi glanced at the time and let out a yelp. He hadn't realized it had gotten so late in the morning. He quickly tugged on his shoes and headed to the kitchen.
'Crap if I'm late Tsukki will head out without me'
He grabbed the food off the table and kissed his mother on the cheek.
"Thanks mom!"
His mother grinned and gave him a hug.
"No problem dear, have fun at school." She paused, "You have volleyball after right?"
He nodded, "I'll be back late."
She patted him on the back before lightly shoving him out the door.
"Okay make sure to try hard! Fighting!"
He grinned at her and raised a fist.
"I'll do my best!"
