Y/N's POV:

I poured the hot water into the teapot after hearing its high pitched scream. While I was setting up, I noticed that mum hasn't gotten to the kitchen, even after I called her five minutes ago.

"Mum?" I called as I walked out of the kitchen while wiping my hands with a towel, "Mum, time for breakfast!" I shouted towards up the stairs.

I quickly turned my attention outside when I heard someone scream. I ran outside to find her standing and seems to be on a good condition.

"Mum? Didn't I tell you to avoid going outside or exerting too much energy?"

"Oh dear, I was only getting my morning exercise. But look what I found!" she replied while excitedly holding up a letter. Oh no...

"It came! I thought they would never send you one or maybe forgot to send you one but it came!" I sighed. I always feared this day. I tried my best to get all the letters hidden or burned before she could even find it. That's why I didn't let her get the mail herself because I know one will always come up. She handed the letter to me, which I accepted. Once I escorted her inside I was about to throw the letter into the fireplace when she screamed, "No!"

She walked towards me, snatching the letter away from me, "What do you think you were doing?"

"Mum... I'm not going," I said as I walked back to the kitchen. I heard her follow me but I refused to turn towards her.

"Y/N Y/L/N! Do you know how lucky you are to be accepting such an important letter? Your father told me so much about Hogwarts that I felt jealous that he was a wizard and I wasn't!" I rolled my eyes. Here we go again.

"Hogwarts is a school where you belong," she lectured as I was mouthing the same words. "You have a gi—" I cut her off.

"No Mum. It's a curse." she looked at me sympathetically. I sat on a chair while running my fingers through my hair. She rubbed my back to give comfort.

"Honey... Your father and I wouldn't have experienced the magic of being parents if Dumbledore did not entrust you to us. You owe this to them. You owe it to yourself to fulfill your destiny." I looked up to her and she gave back a small smile. "You're a gift. They would be regretting the fact that they sent you a letter too late."

"Uhm..." I muttered as I slowly scratched my head. "They have been sending letters."

Her eyes widened and I prepared myself to get hit but I did not get any. I opened my eyes and saw her standing two feet away from me. "So you're telling me you've missed two school years?" she asked calmly but I knew her blood was boiling. I know mum too well and this time I wish I didn't. I awkwardly smiled at her. She quickly ran to the living room. I felt nervous to what she was about to do so I followed her. I saw her giving y/o/n a letter before letting her fly. It's been so long since she let y/o/n out, specifically to send a letter. She looked back at me.

"They'll be coming here in a matter of an hour or two." she said while smiling brightly. I didn't want to ask her who she meant, but it's probably one of my father's relative in the wizarding world. Maybe uncle Remus or whoever.

"If you're over it, can we eat breakfast now? The tea is getting cold." she nodded and linked arms with me to the kitchen. Whoever she called, she must be excited to see them. We haven't had any guest since Dad.
