Y/n's POV:

I'm walking through the hallway, seeking for an empty compartment when I suddenly bumped into someone. Or two people? I felt them make way for me like a door.

"Pardon me." I simply said, still focused on the book I'm intensely reading. I have to take an exam with Professor Snape that I missed the past year.

Half way passing through them someone pulled my arm that caused me to look up and turn around to see who dare to bother me reading. "Y/n!" Fred exclaimed as he pulled me in a bone crushing hug.

"Oi! Save some space for me too!" George said while following Fred on hugging me that crushed me even more.

I'm quite shocked. Their hair are longer than the last time I saw them, they also massively got taller. I felt awfully small. "Uhm..." I muttered loud enough and patted their backs as much as I could. I couldn't move my arms well because of them hugging me.

"Where have you been?" Fred asked after they hugged me to death.

I remembered the week before school started I sent them a letter. Mum got awfully sick two days before that, I couldn't bare leaving her alone in the house. Mum has always been prone to illnesses but that time it was terrifying. We were in the kitchen and enjoying our breakfast when she suddenly collapsed without any warning. I was so scared that I insisted on going to a hospital. After going back I decided that Dumbledore is better equipped because he has Madam Pomfrey, and so I wrote him an urgent letter.

Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall came to our house immediately. I was relieved but I told them that I won't be able to focus well if I'm far away from Mum. They agreed to send me my classwork weekly. Every month Professor McGonagall visits along with Madam Pomfrey to check in on us. There was a time where Mum almost took her last breath. I was so glad that she didn't.

Back to the letter, I informed the two of them that I won't be attending Hogwarts for a long time due to personal matters. I didn't want to dig deeper into it, and fortunately they didn't asked any questions either. Along with the letter there were two key necklaces, same as mine. I asked Dumbledore if he could give me two spare and he gladly agreed. I decided to tell them it was their early late gift as it was quite an important item. On Christmas I sent them a package with four cans of hairsprays. They were so amazed by the idea of it getting someone's hair hard and a bit sticky that they sprayed a whole can on Lee's hair.

I smiled at them and gave them a softer hug that they automatically returned. "I missed you guys."

We went inside an empty compartment. Like usual, I sat by the window and Fred sat beside me blocking my way with his entire legs.

"We were upset when you told us you won't be attending again this year on last month's letter." Fred said, I saw George nod aggressively.

"I'm sorry..." I looked down my lap. Fred removed his legs and sat down properly, "Mum got sick last summer. She was so ill and I couldn't leave her by herself." I explained. I looked outside, the train is starting to move.

"Hey, we weren't complaining—" Fred began.

"—just worried. You rarely send us an owl." George said. I sighed. They're such sweet boys. I received weekly letters from them that had a picture of my dormitory where they always decorated according to theme.

"I wasn't lying when I sent you that letter last month. I was still worried about Mum but she insisted for me to go. She did look better than last year but I was still skeptical. No offense, I did want to go and see you all but I couldn't bear leaving her." I felt Fred's hand rubbed on my back.
