"Hey." Josh smiled when he took a seat beside Jessica.
"Hi." Jess replied, shocked he would sit with her.
Usually, he was with his friends on the bus and Jessica was with Brayden. They hadn't talked too much since the first time. But she sure has been thinking about him a lot since then.
"How've you been?" He asked as he watched his teammates walk by. They were giving him a smirk, some hooting and hollering for him.
Jessica rolled her eyes as a result, "Good.. Where have you been the past three days?"
"Oh, y'know, playin hockey and what not." He teased.
"Oh really?" She said sarcastically, rolling her eyes and playfully pushing the boy.
Josh sent her a knowing smirk in response. Jessica took this time to look him over, admiring his dirty blonde hair and gentle eyes. But she couldn't keep her eyes off his lush, pink lips as they curved into a wicked smile.
"Hey Morrissey, in my spot are you?" Brayden chirped as he was walking by.
"Piss off Pointer." Josh replied whipping his head around and thrusting his middle finger towards him.
Jessica giggled at the banter between the boys. Brayden proceeded to wiggle his eyebrows at the pair, eventually slowly walking off.
"So did you hear about our plans for after the game?" He asked to spark conversation, looking down as he licked his lips.
"Not at all."
"Well we're planning for a night out on the town. Wanna come?" Josh explained eagerly.
He had the goofiest grin plastered on his face. Jessica couldn't help but take up his offer.
"Great." He smiled, looking down at their hands yet again.
"What is it? Is there something on them?" Jessica asked subconsciously, inspecting her fingers.
"No, no, no. I just wanted-" Josh stopped and grabbed her hand. He intertwined their fingers, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. It was like he thought her hand was the most fragile material in the world.
Jessica instantly began to blush, and Josh softly smiled at the sight. He turned away, fixing his headphones onto his ears.
Jessica turned away too, smiling to herself. It was the cheesiest thing, but she liked a little cheese. It made her feel at ease, yet still nervous as hell.
Jess took a look outside the window and noticed they were nearly at the Bell Centre. She nearly groaned at the fact that they would be separated.
She didn't want the rush of the moment to fade, she didn't want the feeling to go away. Of how their hands fit perfectly with one another. And the softness of Josh's hands, and his tendency to rub the back of her hand with his thumb.
"Okay boys get ready to go!" She heard Lazar yell from behind them.
Josh looked back, leaning over the seat, still grasping Jess's hand.
"Mads, you listen to this Taylor Swift song yet?" He asked, earning a laugh from his friend.
"No buddy, but you gotta show it to me." Madison said.
"I will." Josh replied enthusiastically as he slumped back in his seat.
He looked at Jessica with a smile before placing a kiss on her cheek and standing in the isle. Finally releasing their hands.
Though the feeling of the adrenaline through holding hands was faded, it was quickly replaced with the kiss. It sent a tingle through tout her whole body, leaving a warm feeling on her cheek.
