Jessica and Roland were relaxing in their shared hotel room before bed. Roland was watching some highlights from the games that evening; while Jessica was scrolling through her Instagram.
Suddenly there was a knock on the door, startling the two of them. Jessica looked at Roland confused, while she ushered her to answer it.
"Hey."
Behind the door was a smiling Brayden Point. Who was sporting a customized Canada shirt that was given to the team and plaid pajama pants.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as she looked down, noticing she was just in her pajama shorts and a Canada t-shirt.
"I'm here to chill. The boys are 'resting' and shit." Brayden hand quoted as he looked behind her.
"Holy shit do you have a kid?" He yelled, causing Jessica to roll her eyes.
"No. Come in." She pushed him behind her, looking into the hall hoping he hadn't disurbed anybody.
"Brayden, this is my brother Roland."
Jessica assumed he hadn't seen them after the game that evening, which was strange since she was around him quite a bit.
"Brayden Point!" Roland smiled and jumped up from the bed.
"Hey buddy." Brayden replied while patting his head.
"Why is he here?! Are you two dating? Is he staying the night?" Roland asked in excitement, he sure loved his hockey players. He was a little disappointed he didn't get to speak to many of the players after the game.
"No, no. Hes my friend, and I don't think dad would like if he stayed over."
Roland scoffed and threw his hands in the air. "Dad wouldn't know." He said which caused Brayden to laugh.
"I'm just here to visit Jess, Roland. Plus I wouldn't like to be on your dad's bad side if he ever found out." Brayden went to sit on Jess's bed, picking up her phone.
"Bummer." Roland said, going to sit beside Brayden.
"Come sit Jessy." Brayden smiled as he patted the open spot next to him.
Jess climbed over to her friend, practically snuggling up next to him.
The three were laying on Jessica's bed in silence, as they watched the Sportsnet panel on the World Juniors.
That was, until they heard soft snores from the other side of Brayden.
"Your brother is a cutie." He commented as he adjusted his postion, curling his arm around Jessica's body.
"Mhm." She muttered sarcastically, now resting her head on his chest.
"Did I ever tell you about that time when I vomited into a girl's mouth?"
Jessica laughed, of course he would begin a conversation like that.
"No. But I'm not sure I want to hear it either."
"Well, too bad." Brayden said and began to tell his wild story. It consisted of some high school party, a lot of food, a lot of alcohol and making out. Eventually, what happened was he had too much in his system and barfted while making out with a girl. She was supposedly really hot too.
"What a shame."
"It was! I mean, it was so embarrassing. Like she was so fucking hot and I blew it. Luckily I never saw her again after that, cause y'know I'm in the WHL so I didn't attend her school."
"I like how you don't even feel bad for vomiting in her mouth." Jessica giggled looking up at Brayden.
He shrugged and looked over at her after looking down at her brother.
"You know I've never even had my first kiss yet." Jess spoke up which earned a gasp from Brayden.
"No fucking way. You're joking." He suddenly sat up, causing Jessica to do so as well.
She shook her head, meaning she was not. Sure she had romantic interests and had done 'romantic things' but kissing had never happened. Unless you could count kisses on other body parts.
"Are you sure?"
"I'm pretty sure." Jessica giggled. He raised his thick eyebrows and waved her over.
"Brayden. I want to have my first kiss when it happens. I don't want to force it." She said as she pushed him away.
"I understand." He said, "I had mine when I was twelve with this girl who ended up being the biggest slut, holy shit. But I was glad to get it over with."
Jessica smiled, nervous about the conversation at hand.
"So are you thinking of 'having it happen' soon?" Brayden asked and Jessica rolled her eyes.
"No Brayden." She sighed, going to lie down in the empty bed.
"Where are you going?"
Jessica crawled under the sheets, before responding to her friend.
"I'm just laying in bed. You can join me if you want. Or you can go back to your room."
He shrugged as he adjusted his mop of hair.
"Here come, I'll wait until you fall asleep."
Brayden made his way to the bed, lying next to Jessica. He wrapped an arm over her waist and pulled her close to him.
"Thanks for taking the time to get to know me." Jessica mumbled into the duvet.
"Its only been a few days, but you're one of the closest friends I've had."
"No need to thank me. It was my pleasure to get to know you. You're amazing Jess."
She turned around to face him, seeing his eyes drooping with a light smile. He was constantly making her smile, with his stupid stories, corny jokes, or even his little blurts of compliments.
Brayden opened his eyes ever so slightly, capturing Jessica's gaze with his own.
"Thanks Brayden. You are too."
Brayden scoffed, moving away from her.
"Thats all I get? 'You are too?'"
"Brayden. You are one of the most amazing people I've met. You never fail to make me smile everyday, and you have the greatest stories to tell. I love being around you." Jessica said which brung a smile to Brayden's face.
"Aw! You're so nice Jessica!" He jokingly sobbed, pretending to wipe a tear from her eye.
"Shut up Bray." Jess laughed and playfully nudged her friend.
