Chapter 5~ Trial and the scout regement

After Trost, we were assigned to cleaning up bodies. Annie, Berthldt, and I explained what we did to Marco since he forgot.  

We found out by eves dropping that Eren was in the custody of the military police and they will be having a trial on who gets full custody, MIlitary police, or the Scout regiment. The military police will likely kill him because they are afraid of different things and will just kill him as an easy way out. Since this is a possibility I was tasked with sneaking into the trial to make sure that he wasn't killed there or turned over to the Military police. 

The plan was pretty simple, I sneak into the courtroom, make sure that nothing that could make us lose the founder doesn't happen and if it does I will use my titan powers to get a hold of Eren and head for the wall. I was to climb the wall and then go to a forest area a little ways away from the wall and stay there until nightfall. That's when Annie, Bertholdt, and Reiner were going to get there, they were going to stay back and make sure that the scouts didn't come after us then come to me. After that, the four of us would head home with Eren in tow. 

We had a not well thought out plan that would only take place if needed. If we didn't need it we would wait till we had chosen our regiments and then try again on an expedition it would be easier to capture him while on an expedition because we would already be in titan territory and we could use that to our advantage.

The trial starts soon and I need to make sure I get in at the right time and stay in the shadows. My best option was to slip in when they were bringing Eren in from his cell then going off to the side where I wouldn't be seen.  

I was waiting on the staircase for them to bring Eren to the door the lead to the courtroom, when I saw them coming I made sure to press myself against the wall.  There were two MPs behind Eren and in front were two survey corps people. When they get to the door to the courtroom the MPs grabbed a hold of Eren and hauled him into the courtroom. One of the Scout soldiers said something but I couldn't make out the words. 

When the doors closed the two survey corps soldiers left and I was able to slip into the room quietly. I decided to stand where I would fully be able to see the MPs which meant I was on the scout regiment side. 

I saw Eren sitting in the middle of the room with the scout regiment on one side the MPs on the other and the judge in the middle aligned with Eren, then also in the back were civilians. Luckily for me that everyone in the courtroom was more focused on Eren than looking around because the civilians would kinda be able to see me if they looked hard enough but I highly doubt they will look very much this way. I was also able to see that Mikasa and Armin were in the stands on the scout regiment side. 

" Alright, shall we begin?" The judge asks " Your name is Eren Yeager, and as a solder, you have sworn to give up your life when called to for the good of the people. Is that correct?"

"  Yes," Eren replies

" As an enlisted soldier in a time of war military doctrine demands your tribal to be held as a court marshal, as commander of our digressions this matter is left to my hands' The judge says " Thus means I will decide if you live or you die," 

' Not really dude. That's my decision, and he is going to live,' I thought

" Any objections?" He asks

" No sir," Eren replies

" Your astuteness is appreciated." The judge says " Let us proceed. As expected covering up your existence has proven quite fruitless and unless we publicly disclose your esistance, one way or another we risk the outbreak of widespread civil unrest.  A choice must be made and the regiment that takes custody of you will determine your fate. Military police or the scout regiment, to begin the Military police will now present their case."
