Chapter 12~ Fake calm before the storm

It's been about 2 months since our failed capture of Eren, we met up with Zeke. He said he was happy to see us but I made a vow to stay as far away from him as possible. I never really liked Zeke when I first met him when I was in warrior training, now I really don't like him. Reminds me of my dad, whom I don't need someone to remind me of. 

We had unfortunately departed with Yimr, she had given herself to marly and said she would voluntarily get eaten to give the Jaw back to marly. She did write a letter to Christa and asked that when we fought paradise that we would somehow get it to Christa. Yimr gave the letter to Reiner and he was going to try and give it to someone so they can give it to Christa. I felt bad for them, they were never going to see each other again and they looked like they love each other.

In all of this, I had seen Pieck again for the first time in years, we weren't that very close when we were in the training but we would talk every once and a while. She seems to be doing good and she was here to help us with the last chance to capture the Founder. 

That was our plan, to try and capture Eren and get the founder. We were on top of the wall Maria, waiting. We knew that the survey corps would be coming back to Eren's home so that they can reclaim the wall Maria and Erens home. With that being we were here waiting, Pieck was in her titan form watching and waiting for the survey corps so that she could come back to where we were and tell us. We had a kinda well thought out plan but not being very optimistic I really didn't care about the outcome. That probably is bad for me to say but if I died here I wouldn't be upset or anything like that, I didn't need to go back to marly. I wasn't wanted there, I wasn't really wanted anywhere.  

Reiner and Bertolt were sitting across from Zeke with a fire in between them. They all had cups of tea in their hands, so do I but I am more away from them. I was behind Reiner and Bertold laying on my back staring up at the stars. I haven't been in the most talkative mood since we had met up with Zeke. Bertold kept looking from Reiner to me every couple of minutes, Reiner was in warrior mode which made him very passive-aggressive, and then I was just in my head which is never good.

I was laying with Annie outside in a clearing of the forest of the training corps. She was laying on her back looking at the stars and I was laying sideways with my head on her chest and her arm around me also looking at the stars. We weren't really saying anything but that was what our relationship consisted of, the comfortable silence we had and showing how we feel with gestures.

When it comes to dating your best friend it has many perks but also has some downsides. Some of the perks are already knowing things about your partner; another one is that we are already comfortable with each other. Some downsides are that if something happens in this relationship our friendship might also be broken, lucky Annie had reassured me about things like that weren't going to happen between us.

" You know we are going to have to separate soon, right?" Annie asks suddenly

" I know we won't be joining the same regiment," I say " That's what you're talking about right?"
