"Down the hall, first door on the right," Diana informed the guard. Though in reality this was Loki with a brilliant illusion over him.

"Thank you," he knocked twice on the door. No answer. Another and he heard a thud and groan, on instinct he opened the door in worry.

You sat on the ground leaning against a bedside table, clutching your head. "What is it?"

"Apologies, I was sent by Prince Loki to give you this and collect a letter?"

"That man really wasn't kidding when he said the break of dawn," you stared out the window. Packaging the letter up you traded it with the one he held. "Not as fancy as his, tell him my apologies for keeping him waiting,"

"Will do," Loki bowed his head and left with a small smile.

Picking open the wax seal with his sigil on it, you read over the letter.

It was short and simple. You could tell where he used his silver tongue to persuade instead of using proper facts which only made your ego boost.

Twelfth night was going to win this.

~~~
Loki, once back in his room ripped open the letter with a knife and gazed over the words. Tracing along each curve of every letter. There was passion, drive, sincerity in every vowel you spoke in his mind.
He thought this would have been a funny jest to see your attempt at persuasion... but this was brilliant.
He hadn't seen such silver speak in a life time, one challenging his own. The worst part was he couldn't tell when he started to realize the effect of your words.
"Y/n, please take out that tray for me," doing as asked, the kitchen was busy preparing lunch for the royals.
"So, how did you do, Y/n?" Diana walks over as she looked over her list for the evening.
"I'm certain I won,"
Bjorn and a few other maids listened in until curiosity got the better of him. "What's this you speak of?"
"Y/n and Prince Loki exchanged letters of persuasion for their choice of a comedic Midgardian play," Diana let out a hearty laugh which never failed to bring a smile to your face.
"You talked with the prince?" A passing stable boy widens his eyes as he took carrots for the horses.
"His royal highness sauntered into the servant kitchen looking for food, or an escape from his brother," you snicker and pop the bread into the oven just as a guard walked in.
"Was he sweet?"
"Charming, obviously," a girl nudges the other.
"Were his eyes like emeralds?"
"His cheekbones could cut if I ever held them!"
"You're all insufferable," Bjorn and Diana chuckle softly at your response. "The prince was polite and kind, as a prince should be... and you should treat him as such and not a hunk of meat,"
"He's a hunk of meat, alright, have you seen him training with prince Thor?" the girls all giggle and sigh in content.
"Gross," you lay eyes on a looming guard. "Yes?"
"Sorry to interrupt, Prince Loki has sent me to hand this over," the guard, or rather Loki yet again in disguise, held out a letter.
"Oh, open it and read it out!" Diana cooed.
"It's going to be littered with persuasion techniques," you scoff and thank the guard with a raised brow.
Dear Y/n,
Your letter has brought to my attention the brilliance of Twelfth night flawlessly. I must admit you are a brilliant maiden with much talent to be able to construct such a well written letter. If it is no hassle, I would like to borrow your copy of the play. Yes, the library holds one too but the annotations lack focus and are rather mundane. Plus your entertaining notes along with doodles do make monologues bearable.
Kindest regards,
Prince Loki of Asgard
"Well, I'm glad I won that because I'm not losing to anyone about my opinion on Shakespeare, whether it's a prince or an elf in Alfheim,"
"Rather boring letter, don't you think?" The stable boy from before stayed to listen.
"Did you expect a love letter? He's Prince Loki not Romeo... though I really hope no one is as much of an imbecile as Romeo..." you gesture for the guard to follow you. "Are you the same guard from this morning,"
"I am,"
"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/n,"
"Lucian," he shakes your hand.
"Well, here's the book, and tell him to be careful, my doodles are priceless,"
"I'll be sure to let him know," Loki bowed his head before leaving. His hand flipped through the pages once he was in his chambers, rolling his eyes at your remarks, a hint of impression in his thoughts.
