Brooke's POV:
The dinner went good. The guys were all really nice. We exchanged numbers and I'm supposed to be hanging out with them tomorrow actually. They want me to go to the beach with them. This should be fun. Dalton said he would invite his girlfriend Madison. Not that I don't like the guys, but I was relieved to hear another girl would be there.
"Brooke, your father and I are going to bed. Goodnight! I love you sweetheart."
"Night, Mom. I love you too!" I yelled back as I kick my house shoes off and sit down on my bed. I was about to lay down when my phone started ringing. I looked at the caller i.d and smirked to myself.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey, Cookie." I heard Cole laugh on the other end. I laugh silently.
"Hey, Cole. What's up?" I ask as I walk to my balcony and open the door. This is my favorite part of my room. I have a balcony and not just one of those tiny things that will barely fit a chair on it. I'm talking it can hold 4 or 5 chairs, a table, and a lounge chair.
"Just can't sleep and the other guys are already asleep and I knew you weren't." He replied.
"Oh? And how did you know that?" I question. I heard him laugh faintly.
"Because I can see you." I begin looking around. That officially creeped me out. "Oh come on. Don't act all scared. I live across the street from you. I'm on my balcony." I look across the street and see a shadowy figure on the balcony across from mine. He was sitting in a chair with his feet propped on the railing. And is his shirt off? I squinted to see. I think his shirt's off. Just then he flipped his light on. Yepp, his shirt's off.
"Oh, hey." I laugh nervously trying not to stare at his shirtless torso too much.
"Are you as bored as I am?" He questioned. I laugh.
"Probably more. I don't have internet here yet." I smirked as I saw him laughing.
"Well, you can come over here if you want to." He suggests, his eyes gazing directly at mine.
"Wouldn't your parents kill you if I just showed up at your house?" I ask looking back at him.
Cole's POV:
"Wouldn't your parents kill you if I just showed up at your house?" she asks. Good point. Hmm. Gotta think if I want to spend time alone with her. Got it!
I stick my phone in my pocket and whisper for her to hold on. She looks at me questioningly and I just hold up a finger and climb down the tree next to my balcony. I make it to the ground and take my phone back out of my pocket.
"Are you insane?!" she laughs. I smirk.
"Maybe a little." I hang up the phone and put it back in my pocket as I begin to climb the tree next to her balcony. I reach the railing and she helps me over. She bites her bottom lip and smiles up at me. "Hi." I hear her say barely above a whisper.
I chuckle quietly as I sit down next to her and prop my feet on the railing. "Hey." She looks over at me and bites her lip slowly then looks away and leans her head back against her chair.
"You tired? I can go home if you want me too." I offer, hoping she'll say no. I don't want to leave yet...
She glances over at me. "No, I'm fine. Seriously. I mean, I'm tired but I won't be able to sleep anyways." she says.
"Why wouldn't you be able to sleep?" I question her. She shrugs her shoulders.
"New town, new house." she replies. "What's that have to do with anything?" I raise an eyebrow at her.
Brooke's POV:
Okay, so don't judge me but I guess I'm nervous about this new town. Whenever I moved to Florida, I couldn't sleep for a week. I told him the story.
"For real?" He looked surprised.
I bit my lip. I do that alot. "Yeah, like my bestfriend from home had to come cuddle with me until I fell asleep, but you know he's kinda back in Florida so that's not gunna happen here." I looked at the ground. I looked back at him and I could see gears turning in his head. "What?" I asked.
" Well, I mean if it'll help you sleep, I can stay over for a while and wait until you fall asleep then leave." he suggests. Did he just offer to stay with me until I fall asleep?
"Did you just offer to cuddle with me?" I ask, raising an eyebrow playfully yet flirtatiously. I smirk as I see him dumbfounded.
"Uhh, I mean, I , uh, I guess I can. I mean, if you want me to." he stuttered. I laughed.
"I don't mind. It'd actually probably help. I mean, the sooner I fall asleep, the less tired I'll be at the beach tomorrow." I giggle.
