Ch.18 Empty

~Kokichi pov~

Y/n...is gone and she wanted one of us to make it to the end. I guess the plan's off, I hadn't told her but, I was gonna die at the end of my plan.

I'll live for her. At least, until we end this killing game...after that. I could care less.

We could probably challenge Monokuma and have a trial, but we'd need evidence to find out who the mastermind is.

I don't think Kaito is gonna live that long... I think he's ill.

He seems weaker than usual... I followed him and he coughed up blood.

Any who, I need to talk to Keebo, he seems to have all these gadgets that could be helpful. Maybe we should just destroy the whole building and everyone in it. That way...there would be no survivors and it will surely kill the mastermind.

I didn't turn up for breakfast like usual. I only turned up when everyone left and grabbed food.

If I was someone else they would probably be worried, but since the trial..they probably hate me.

I caused Gonta to die...Y/n too...if I'd got there sooner...

There's no point dwelling on it now. Maybe I should talk to Shuichi too...he's the ultimate detective, right?

"Keebo."

He jumped in shock, not expecting me to talk to him.

"I need to talk with you."

He glared at me, "After everything you've done.."

Tears slipped down my face...real tears.

I quickly wiped them but it was too late..he'd already seen them.

"What do you want to talk about?"

"Your lab...it has all those items and I'm thinking...they could be useful into defeating the mastermind."

"You're not lying, right?"

"There's no reason to lie...I hate this killing game more than anyone else and I promised Y/n...that we'd end it...but I guess it's up to me now."

Keebo nodded, "I understand, I'm not saying I fully trust you but...for now I'll trust you. When you finish your plan, tell me what to do, okay?"

"Yeah.." I left quietly, now time to find Shuichi.

Everyone had a plan to escape, they tried the passage again and obviously failed.

A few days had passed and I decided to talk to everyone.

Tell them the truth. I never did talk to Shuichi.

When I entered the dining room, Kaito was coughing weakly surrounded in a pool of blood.

Maki was panicking.

He said something which caused Maki to cry more, before the light left his eyes.

"Kaito..." I ran over to the group, gaining distrusting looks, "I knew of his illness...I noticed...but I didn't think it was that bad."

"Why didn't you say anything?" Maki glared at me.

"I thought Kaito would've told you himself..guess not. We probably have to do a class trial, to make sure no one poisoned him or anything and he really did die of the illness."

Everyone gave me distrusting looks.

"Guys, I want to talk to you...all of you. I know you don't trust me but still, after this trial. We can talk, right?"

Shuichi was the first to agree, which in turn made everyone else agree.

We did a trial for Kaito but of course it was like I thought...

We all went to bed as usual.

Tomorrow, it was finally time, to tell them everything and maybe figure out a way out of here or maybe a way to expose the mastermind.
