For the rest of the week Gabriel wondered if Nathalie had been lying to him. But usually she didn't. Still, something about that appointment felt wrong. Then a thought hit him. What if she had not been to any doctor, but was applying for a new job? So she could get out of the situation, being a target for every gossip reporter that Paris could come up with.

But she would've told him about that, wouldn't she? Nathalie would never just go away and leave him alone with everything.

He had considered to ask her directly about that, but then he decided that he rather shouldn't.

She was taking some kind of pill each day after her breakfast, so she obviously had really gotten a prescription. He couldn't tell, if they really were special vitamins. But he had done some research and found, that there were a few vitamins and minerals, that were rather difficult to take in by food and maybe that was indeed the problem.

He just decided, to not pressure her and maybe she would tell him a few things, if he gave her some space. Of course that wouldn't stop him from flirting.

Nathalie had noticed, that he was trying hard to not be around her all the time, and to not ask too much questions and she was grateful for that. And she loved his tiny attempts to flirt with her. A little compliment here, an mostly not so subtle hint there. She wished she had the guts to give in to them each time though. It had been over a week since her visit at the doctor's office, and she was still tired all the time. Well, she had expected that. Though the doctor had told her, that the vitamins might as well help with that, she didn't really believe it. Especially after being told, that she better would try less coffee and more tea or water. As if she didn't know that. But that was the only thing that could get her up in the morning and through the day. She had never considered it might cause so much damage anyway.

Gabriel noticed her change of habits with a raised eyebrow and a questioning look. He had finished his first cup of coffee and was on his way to get another. When he asked her, if he should bring her some as well, she shook her head and pointed at a bottle with water. To the expression on his face she only mumbled: "Doctor's orders!"

"What ever doctor that might be, he at least gets you to live of more than caffeine and sweets. Maybe I should pay him a visit too.", he joked.

He could just shake his head in confusion though, when she tried to hold back her laugh after he said that.

"What was so funny about that? Me changing my habits or me at the doctor that made you change yours?"

"Both!", she blurted out giggling. After she had calmed down a little she said: "I have to get something from my room anyway, I can get you the coffee on my way."

"Oh no, you just want to have another against the doctor's orders and I won't allow that", he replied dryly. "Don't think I don't know you my dear!"

"I-I would n-n-never..."

He stood right in front of her now. Her back was only a few inches from the wall and he was too close. She could already smell him. She wanted nothing more than to just fall into his arms, but she wasn't supposed to.

"Gabriel, please", she whispered.

"I know", came from him as he cupped her face and leaned his forehead against hers. "It's just more difficult on some days."

She nodded. "I just, I need to go, I................"

And then they suddenly were kissing.

Gabriel was surprised by her sudden ambush, but he wasn't one to complain. He reacted quickly and wrapped his arms around her trembling body that she was pressing taut against his own.
