Five and y/n climbed up the fire escape until they had reached the right window.
"So are you going to explain everything to me now?" Five looked at y/n feeling guilty he hadn't told her everything yet.
"Soon, when Vanya get's here" once again y/n was frustrated that she couldn't be told anything. She went to grab a first aid kit for Fives arm. She put the needle in his skin closing up the wound as Five winched at the pain. He watched her, feeling a little creepy but he just couldn't look away. He saw her beautiful (e/c) eyes and her (h/c) hair glowing with the light reflecting.
"Do you want me to sign a autograph for you, huh?" Five saw y/n giggling, his face now bright red in embarrassment. He turned his head away avoiding her gaze until he felt a hand grab his chin forcing him to look at her.
"It's ok, you've been through a lot, it's probably just the being with your family again that is making you like this." She smiled while saying that but in her mind it hurt thinking about that being true.
Vanya unlocked her door and walked in, she was about to turn on her light until Five switched the lamp on reveling Five sitting on the chair with y/n kneeling next to him.
"Jesus!" Vanya tried to say quietly,
"You should have locks on your windows,
"I live on the second floor" Vanya was confused with his words
"Rapist can climb" y/n elbowed him with what he said but Vanya just looked in shock.
"You are so weird.....is that blood" Five looked down to see the blood on his collar from the fight,
"It's nothing"
"Why are you guys here?"
"I've decided you and y/n are the only ones I can trust." Vanya smiled at what he said but y/n felt like punching him so he could get to the point.
"Why me?"
"Because your ordinary" Vanya looked down sad
"Because you'll listen" Y/n chimed in glaring at Five, Five shrugged not even caring.
"When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?" The two girls shook their heads at Five. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing. As far as I could tell I was the last person left alive. I never figured out what killed the human race, but....I did find something else. The date it happens" y/n looked at Five with sympathy not even believing he went through all that alone. "The world ends in eight days, and I have no idea how to stop it."
"I'll put on a pot of coffee."
"eight days!? Why didn't you say anything sooner?"
"I couldn't y/n, I just need you to trust me please" Y/n stood up and sat on the other seat, while Five and Vanya were talking y/n thought back to a memory.
-FLASHBACK-
~during extreme weather conditions, a climber must possess the wisdom to determine when evacuation is inevitable. A controlled alpine descent begins with the girding of ones loins and the anchoring of the climbing rope to one's enemy, the mountain.~
A bell was rung and children's footsteps huddled down the stairs. They all stood behind their chairs one by one. Five and y/n's chairs were next to each other, they always talked after finishing their food but y/n could sense something was wrong with Five, he didn't seem right.
~The Dülfersitz rappel is the preferred method for the descent when rope is the only available tool, but must be regarded as the last resort. Begin by looping the rope...~
"Sit." Their father had told them once he arrived, all of a sudden the chairs squealed as they were pulled out and sat on. Everyone had started eating but as she looked at Five he had his hand tight around his knife staring at his father.....BAM! Five stabbed his knife into the table,
"Number Five?"
"I have a question."
"Knowledge is a admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during mealtimes. You are interrupting Herr Carlson."
"I want to time travel" this time Five said it more impatient,
"No"
"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps, just like you said. See" Five jumped right next to their father looking down at him.
"A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn." That made no sense to anyone.
"Well I don't get it."
"Hence the reason your not ready," Five looked over at y/n, she was shaking her head pleading him to let it go and sit down. He felt guilty but he had to time travel.
"I'm not afraid"
"Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even your mind, are far too unpredictable. Now I forbid you to talk about this anymore." Five looked over at y/n, she was still pleading him to sit down. He turned and ran out the front doors. Y/n stood up running after him.
"Number Five! Number eight!"
"Five!"
"Y/n, I have to go, I have to time travel" Y/n had tears in her eyes, if Five left who knows if she would see him again.
"No you don't, you can stay. You don't have to leave to prove anything to the old man" Y/n grabbed Fives hand looking at him with hope. He pulled his hand away looking at her.
"I'm sorry y/n" He time traveled leaving a dazzled and crying y/n all alone. She dropped to the ground not knowing what to do now. Five found himself in front of burnt down streets and buildings, he turned and ran to where the academy was last standing only to see a hand poking out holding an eye. He grabbed the eye and looked to see who it was, when he realized it was Luther he stepped away, he then saw Diego, Allison and Klaus. He never found Vanya or y/n and to this day never knew why.
