"No. Absolutely not."

Raven rolls her eyes and sips her beer.

"Clarke, c'mon. If you can bed him before next Saturday, I'll give you $300."

"No, Raven. That's cruel."

"Come on, Clarke. I'll bump it up to $350." Clarke pauses. Though it's just a $50 increase, it's enough to buy the paint set she's been saving up for. Clarke sighs, knowing that this is going to be hard.

"Fine. You better not be lying, Raven."

"I'm not. I will literally give you $350." Clarke rubs her face.

"Fine. I'll start tomorrow in Mythology."

"Don't forget to read chapter three and answer the prompts!" Miss Kane calls as the class is dismissed. Clarke's heart pounds as she makes her way over to her bet.

"Hi," Clarke smiles. The man looks up and Clarke is once again struck by how gorgeous he is. She always thought he was attractive, but he's even better up close.

"Hi there," he replies, his voice deep and sultry.

Holy shit, Clarke thinks.

"I'm, uh, I'm Clarke."

"I know," he blurts. His eyes widen and his face turns scarlet. "I, uh, I mean, fuck," he whispers. Clarke giggles, finding it adorable.

"Because of roll call, right?" She asks, saving him. He nods quickly.

"Right. Because of roll call. Anyway, I'm Bellamy."

"I love that name. French, right?" Bellamy smiles.

"Yeah. How'd you know?" Clarke blushes.

"I'm good at languages. Like, knowing origins. Mostly because my dad hinted that his great grandfather was some famous painter."

"Was he?"

"No, my dad was just pulling my leg. He did that all the time," Clarke laughs, looking back fondly at the fun times she had with her dad.

"Is he not around anymore?" Clarke's smile fades, as does Bellamy's upon seeing it. "I'm sorry, that was insensitive." Clarke waves off his apology.

"No, it's fine. He was, uh, he was murdered when I was sixteen." Bellamy's face falls.

"I'm so sorry. I know how it feels to lose a parent. My mom overdosed around two years ago." Clarke lays a hand on Bellamy's arm.

"I'm sorry. No one should have to go through losing a parent that young." Bellamy smiles softly.

"It brought me here, though. It made me realize that I want to be more than small town Bellamy Blake." Clarke looks at him with adoration.

"I love that."

"Clarke, Bellamy. I'm sorry, but you have to go. I have another class," Miss Kane says. Clarke's eyes widen.

"I'm so sorry." Clarke and Bellamy rush out of the lecture hall.

"Do you have any more classes?" Clarke shakes her head.

"No, you?"

"Nope." They're silent for a moment before, "I should probably head back to my dorm before my roommate sends out a search party." Clarke's face falls but she quickly covers it up.

"Okay. Well, see you tomorrow." Clarke and Bellamy smile at each other before Clarke starts to walk down the stairs and out the door.

"Wait, Clarke!" Bellamy calls. She pauses and looks at him. "I know it's kinda late, but do you maybe want to grab some dinner with me? Maybe at Sanctum Grill?" Clarke's heart pouds against her ribcage.

"That sounds fantastic." Bellamy beams.

"Awesome. Let's go."

_________

Friday night. Twelve hours before Clarke's time is up. That thought lives in the back of Clarke's mind even as she laughs her ass off on Bellamy's bed.

"So, let me get this straight. Murphy shit himself after kegging?" Bellamy nods, laughing and wiping the tears from his eyes.

"Don't tell him I told you." Clarke pretends to zip her lips up and throw away the key. Their laughter dies down and they lean against the wall next to each other. Bellamy's hand finds hers and he plays with her fingers. "Hey, Clarke?"

"Hm?"

"I know we've only known each other for a week, but do you want to go on a date with me?" Clarke's brain short circuits and she stops breathing.

"You're serious?" Bellamy nods.

"Obviously you can say no. I mean, I'd understand if you say no. But--" Clarke cuts him off and leans over, kissing his cheek.

"I'd love to." Bellamy lets out a relieved breath.

"That's great, because I made reservations for Arkadia." Clarke's eyes widen.

"Really? Holy crap. I don't even know if I have a dress for that!"

"You'd look good in jeans and a t-shirt." Clarke smiles. Their eyes meet and they stare at each other, seeing each other's souls, each other's true colors. Clarke glances at his lips and Bellamy does the same. Without another moment wasted, Bellamy presses his lips to hers. Clarke tangles her hands in his curls, soaking him in.

After a moment that feels like years, they pull away. They breathe heavily, resting their foreheads against the other.

"Wow," Bellamy breaths. Clarke lets out an airy laugh.

"Yeah, wow." Bellamy kisses her nose and stands from the bed.

"Hate to cut this short, but I have to take a shower. Wanna join?" He smirks. Clarke almost says yes, but then she remembers her bet with Raven.

"Maybe next time," she grins. Bellamy laughs and walks into the bathroom to shower. Clarke pulls out her phone and pulls up Raven's number.

Clarke: Bet is off, she sends. Almost immediately, a reply comes.

Reyesss: Why, fell in love? Clarke blushes.

Clarke: ...well...

Reyesss: My plan worked. Clarke's eyes widen.

Clarke: Huh? What the fuck, Reyes?

Reyesss: Oh, come off it. You two sending heart eyes to each other around campus isn't lost on anyone. Please, I did you a favor.

Clarke stares at Raven's text.

Clarke: You sneaky bitch!

Reyesss: You're welcome. Clarke starts to type out more insults for making her feel like shot for taking the bet, but a noise stops her.

"I'm walking on sunshine, whoa oh," Bellamy sings. A smile splits Clarke's face and she deletes the message.

Clarke: Thank you.
