Prompt: Back in Season 1 when Clarke thinks her mother is dead she starts behaving wrecklessly and Bellamy is NOT having it.

———————————————————————————

The moment the cloud of smoke erupted through the trees, Bellamy knew that the only thing that mattered was making sure Clarke was okay. He couldn't focus on anything other than the beautiful girl, with the broken heart. First her father, then her best friend, and now her mother. All taken from her in horrible ways. She didn't deserve what life was throwing at her. Bellamy knew the second he looked into her piercing blue eyes that she had gone through more than what she lets people see. That she had a heart that was just as easily broken as anyone else's.

Bellamy could look into her soul, and see someone who just needed to be loved, and seeing as he didn't even know her; that scared the shit out of him. Being able to see that in a person, before even knowing their name; that isn't something that Bellamy was used to. So he did what he always does. Pushed her away. Made her hate him, so he wouldn't have to face the fact that he was drawn to her in a way he never experienced before.

Every single time he said anything to her that wasn't:
"You're beautiful."
"Perfect"
"I think I'm falling in love with you, even though you hate me."
He could feel his heart shattering. He knew she was different than anyone he's ever met. she was so strong. But she didn't need to be strong right now. She needed to let herself feel.

When she fell down to her knees and sobbed,  Bellamy felt his entire heart break for her. His princess, the beautiful girl with the kindest soul, broken again.
He came up next to her, and wrapped his arms around her, letting her cry into his shirt for a few moments, before she abruptly pulls away, and stands up.

He looks at her with furrowed brows.

"Clarke, where are you going?"

"I'm fine Bellamy. We don't have any more time to waste. We need to go tell everyone the dropship crashed." She says, determined.

Bellamy stands up and grabs her hand to keep her from walking away further.

"We have time for that later Clarke, I'm worried about you!"

She pulls her hand away, and Bellamy looks at her with a broken expression.

"I told you I'm fine Bellamy. You don't even like me so why are you acting like you care all this sudden? I'll see you later." She huffs, and walks away.

Bellamy is left there stunned. But in reality he has no one but himself to blame. He's the one that treated her poorly because he didn't know how to handle himself around her. She's reacting exactly how he wanted her to; she hates him. But he doesn't want that anymore... he hasn't wanted it since he sat there while she mercy killed Atom, and made sure his final moments were peaceful. He wanted to comfort her, but she was just going to keep pushing him away.
He hopes that she went to go find someone she could trust to help her with these emotions. Someone who could really help her.

The next morning, Bellamy gets up and leaves his tent to get to Clarke's. He was unable to sleep peacefully last night because all he could do was worry about Clarke. When he opened the tent, he found Clarke still asleep, but with no blankets on. She also took off her jacket, so she was left in nothing but a short sleeved shirt, and her pants.
Bellamy rushed over to her side, and placed his hand on her arm.
She was ice cold.

"Princess," Bellamy shakes Clarke softly. "Princess wake up!"

She opens her eyes, and is surprised to see him standing there.
