The War (Book 2)

Mission

Whisper: Bad news. One of the scout groups got captured. 

Everyone but Whisper: What!

Tails: Let's go rescue them!

Whisper: Me and Zero will go. You 2 stay here.

Tails and Tangle: Boo. 

Zero: Haha.

Tangle: GRRRRRR!!!!

Tails: Come on. Let us go. 

Whisper: No. Tangle keep an eye on him.

Tangle: Ugh. Sir yes sir.

Zero and Whisper left the base. Leaving Tangle with Tails. 

Zero: So where to? 

Whisper: Northeast. One of the groups were scouting ahead and found a group of robots. Then they tried to take them out but one of the robots were too strong and took them out. They managed to contact us before they got captured. Hopefully they're still alive. And we can get them out before anything happens. 

Zero: Then what are we waiting for?

Whisper and Zero started running faster through the flaming woods till they got to a destroyed part of a city. And started investigating. 

Whisper: Looks like signs of a fight recently.

Zero: So maybe around this area. 

After a while Whisper hears screams for help and quickly tells Zero.

Whisper: I hear them. It's this way.

Zero followed Whisper and quickly hurried where they saw the robots traveling with caged scared resistence members. Possibly to the enemy base. They started sneaking then started making a plan.

Zero: What should we do?

Whisper: I'll distract them. You sneak behind them and free the others. Then we'll destroy the robots. 

Zero: Got it. 

Zero quickly sneaked around and got ready. Whisper saw that he was ready and ran out and shot one of the robots.

Whisper: Hey you hunk of junk! They call you robots. I call you trash. 

The robots put the cage down and started charging at Whisper. Then Zero quickly cut the cage apart with his sword. 

Zero: Are you guys ok? Any injuries?

The cat 2 hedgehogs and a bird shook their head no. But they were clearly still scared.

Zero: Ok get out of here. Head back to base. We're right behind you.

They quickly ran back towards the base. Then Zero joined the battle with Whisper.

Zero: Ok. They're heading back.

Whisper: Great. Now let's destroy these guys.

Whisper aimed her gun at the small bots while Zero started slashing the big bot. Then jumped on the arm.

Zero: That all you got?

The big bot swat Zero. But he dodged just before he got hit and it pulled it's arms apart instead. Then he slashed a final blow on it's head and blew it up. And Whisper finished the small bots off.

Zero: Well that's done. Are we heading back?

Whisper: Yup. Let's go.

Suddenly as they were about to leave a metal bang behind them. And they turned around to see another advanced looking robot.
