The War (Book 2)

Despair

Zero held tight to his necklace and pulled a gem out of it. Then he held it in his hand as clones of himself started appearing from thin air. Then they all got their swords out and charged at the robot.

Flashback

Zero found himself in the hospital wing. Where he saw a worried Whisper.

Whisper: So. You wanna explain?

Zero: Ok. My necklace was given to me by my grandfather. He told me to use it to protect myself and my friends. But only in emergencies. I never knew what he was talking about until after the war started. Turns out when I use it at full power the result is a smaller life span.

Whisper: And you used it recklessly.

Zero: If I didnt do that we would be dead!

Whisper: We could've found another way!

Zero: THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY!!!!

Whisper hugs Zero while crying a little.

Whisper: I just don't want you to die.

Zero smiles a little and pats her back.

Zero: Don't worry. Im not going anywhere anytime soon.

Whisper: Just promise that you'll never scare me like that again.

Zero: I promise.

Tangle: So what is this I stumbled onto?

Whisper: Tangle!? How long have you been standing there!?

Whisper quickly let go.

Tangle: I think since the hug started.

Whisper and Zero blush a little.

Tangle: I'm so never forgetting this.

And since then Tangle shipped them. And eventually so did Tails and just about everyone else.

Flashback end

Zero: Sorry Whisper. I might have to break that promise.

Zero and his clones started slashing the robot apart. But the robot was too fast and came behind and tried to punch him. He quickly reacted and blocked. But he was sent to the ceiling.

Norman: Do you really think you and your team can defeat my suit? You'd never be able to-

Zero: Wanna bet?

Zero focused his power on his sword and started slashing.

Zero: Illusion Slash

Norman: Interesting.

Norman's arm started discharging chaos energy making a lightning attack. And used it to counter the slashes. Then Zero dashed forward with his sword about to slash his arm apart. But Norman grabbed it and threw him aside.

Norman: No matter what you do. You can't defeat me. (Your welcome Silver) I'm too powerful. ALL THIS POWER!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!! MWAHAHAHA- NGH. WHATS GOING ON!!!??? "Screams in pain"

Norman started screaming. Everyone watched in horror as he looked like his head was exploding. Then he went silent then made a death glance at Zero and charged at him and started choking him.

Norman: Goodbye.

Zero: ngh I'm not gonna let it end like this.

Norman started choking him even more. Zero started getting a red blast ready.

Zero in head: This is gonna kill me. But I'm bringing him with me!

But right before that happened Whisper made it just in time and hammered Norman hard enough to knock him far.

Whisper: I thought I said DONT scare me.

Zero: What are you doing!? Get back to cover!

Whisper: No way! Im not gonna let you kill yourself! Theres goita be another way!

Zero: There is no other way!

Norman is about give another discharge then Whisper just lasers him.

Whisper: Dramatic much?

Norman charges toward Zero and punches him in the air. Zero makes red cubes appear and throws them at Norman. Then he hits the ground with his wispon and freezes him into a cube. But Norman easily breaks out.

Zero: If I cant defeat him with my self destruct then how can we beat him?

Whisper: We do it together!

Whisper shot her laser at Norman then he dodged and attempted a attack. But Zero watched her back and tried to slash him back but he dodged once more then punched Zero. Then Whisper started running then used her spikes and tried to pierce through the armor. She missed and quickly changed to hammer and swung it. But he blocked and was about to punch her. Then Zero used his red cubes to make a wall to protect Whisper and made more clones to attack. Zero his clones and Whisper started attacking but Norman used his speed and strength to take everyone of them down one by one. 

Norman: No more holding back.

A few spots on the mech opened up then electricity started coming out and started electrifying everyone. Before the real Zero was electrified he managed to protect Whisper from getting hurt. He used his powers to carry Whisper to safety before she could get hurt. But then he dropped her. Norman stabbed Zero in the back with his own sword.

Norman: Too bad you care more about your friends. Than yourself.

Whisper: ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whisper looked at Zero's slowly dying body then looked at Norman with anger eyes.

Whisper: He protected me. When I couldn't do a thing for him!

Whisper started running while shooting a few lasers then got her hammer out. Norman blocked it with his arms. Then he punched her in the gut. Whisper switched to rocket mode and shot him. 

Norman: Is that the best you've got?

Norman grabbed the rocket and threw it at the roof. Then the roof broke apart and started falling on the shaking in fear rebels. 

Norman: Fall into despair as you watch everyone you've ever loved get crushed by your own mistakes.

Whisper knew he was right. She didn't know what to do anymore. She felt useless. Sad. Despair. And because of her actions. Everyone she ever knew and loved was about to die.
