Daughter of a monster

Chapter 2

(7 years later Alexandra is 15)

Alexandras POV:

I walked into the Orphanage after a long day of shopping with the money I saved from work. I've been working at a fashion shop in the mall nearby the orphanage for a year and a half now. I get paid $100 a week, it is a very good deal for me considering my condition and where I come from to me this meant the world because I have never ever really been able to go shopping before. Because Miss Mary couldn't afford to get us all brand new clothing, but we still loved her and were grateful.

"Hello Miss Mary." I said smiling at her.

"Welcome back Alexa, how was your shopping trip?" She asked me looking up from her book smiling.

"It was great.. I bought you something." I said smiling. She looked at me surprised.

"Oh dear you didn't have to get me anything." She said and I just smiled.

"Miss Mary its a way to say thank you for all you have done," I said as I reached into my bag and handed her tons of books. They were all different sizes some thick and some thin but they still looked really good.

"Oh Thank you Alexa!!! They are wonderful!" She said and I smiled. Miss Mary loved to read a lot reading at every chance that she could get in this place. Just then I heard little feet running and patting along the wood boards and I knew what was to come. I felt something slam into my legs and I laughed as I looked down seeing Crystal and wrapped my arms around her. She is only 5 years old and she is oh so adorable that it's hard to even resist her! I bent down scooping her up in my arms and tickling her a bit.

"Hello Crystal." I said and she smiled, as she stopped giggling.

"Hello Alexa!!" She said smiling and pulling on my hair. I reached down into my bag and I pulled out a tufted puppy dog. Crystal gasped and I smiled as I handed it to her watching her hugging it to her chest.

"I thought you might of needed a friend to sleep with." I said.

"Oh thank you Alexa!" She said smiling. We don't have any toys here either and I knew she would want something to sleep with. Every night she would wake up and tip-toe to my room scared, she is like my little sister basically. I would go to the ends of the earth to protect Crystal!

"You're welcome. Now why don't we go play tea party again," I asked her as I set her down on the floor and she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards her room. We went inside her room and sat at the table as she set out the tea cups and filled the tea pot with water and sat down.

"Would you like some tea Miss Crystal," I asked picking up the tea pot.

"Yes please, Miss Alexa." She said giggling as I poured the tea. I set the tea pot down on the table and she picked it up.

"Some tea Miss Alexa?" She asked.

"Ahh yes Miss Crystal I would love some of your finest tea." I said and she giggled as she poured the tea then set the tea pot down. We both began to drink our tea and laugh, I knew she would be adopted soon at how sweet she was. I also knew that in 2 years I would be with my new family.I heard they have a girl in their family who is 2 years older then me. I'm so excited to meet her.

We finished up our tea party and cleaned up washing out the tea pot and cups so that they are ready for use whenever she wants to play again. I gave her a big hug and walked her over to her bed helping her get in and tucking her in.

"Will you sing me one of the songs you make up Alexa?" She asked and I smiled.

"Of course." I said smiling.

"Time for sleep and time for rest so that we can play tomorrow. Have dreams as far as your imagination could go and have some fun to prepare yourself for the new day to come" I sang. She was fast asleep when I was done singing. My voice sounds like beautiful bells when I am singing.

I walked out of her room and went into my room with my bags.I set them down and smiled. Then I climbed into my bed and fell fast asleep.
