Peter POV:

I was trying to catch up on the work I had missed when I get a call from an unknown number. I did not answer, thinking it was a fraud caller. I just let it ring out. As soon as I did, it began calling again. I just hung up the second time, a bit frustrated but it instantly called again.

I answered it, just to tell whoever they were to "STOP CALLING ME!" But nobody was on the other end. "Hello? Anybody there?" I asked. I was about to hang up when I heard screaming. "AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" It sounded like...Y/n? "Who is this?!" I exclaimed into the phone, but this time someone said something. "Peter?" I heard Y/n weakly say on the other end. "Y/n?! Oh My God your still alive! Tell me where you are!" I swiped all the work off my desk and grabbed a notepad, ready to write down anything. "If you want to see Y/n again, I'm going to need you to do something for me..." said another voice I did not recognise. "Anything! Just let her go!" I pleaded with the voice. "Peter, don't! It is a trick! He won't let me go-"
But the phone hung up.

I could not get to sleep that night, so I decided to walk over to Mr Stark's. I walked down the empty streets of Queens at 1am. Some of the lampposts were flickering, some did not even work. An eerie silence had fallen over Queens. The sidewalk blocks made scraping noises when I walked over them. There was scurrying around the bins in the alleyways. A chill passed over my back, causing me to shiver.

Something felt off.

When I got to the compound, all the lights were out. I contemplated walking back, but I knew I needed to tell Mr Stark. I stated my name, F.R.I.D.A.Y let me in, and as I walked up to the door, a half-awake Mr Stark opened the door.

"Kid? What is the matter? Do you know what time it is?" He interrogated me, as he let me in. I went over and sat on the couch in the living room. "Are you going to tell me what you're doing here...?" I pulled out my phone and opened all the missed calls. "Mr Stark, Y/n is still alive-" I was cut off by Mr Stark groaning. "Not this again kid!" He frustratedly ran his hands through his hair. "I came here to ask you to trace back a call to its location. I got a call from an unknown number, and Y/n was screaming on the other end. A random voice said I had to do something if I wanted to get her back, but Y/n pleaded that I did not do it. That it was a trap. Then the call cut off." I handed over my phone for Mr Stark to look at.

"What did they tell you to do?" He questioned. "They didn't get to tell me, after Y/n spoke they hung up. It kind of sounded like a man." I shrugged. "Was that the only thing he said?" Spoke Mr Stark, standing up and walking to his workshop. "Other than the fact that before I answered, they kept on calling until I did." I stood up and followed him. "Whoever they are, must've really wanted to talk to you. But why you?" He asked himself, as he placed his hand on the tablet and the doors opened. "I really don't know Mr Stark!" I sighed in frustration. "Well, I'll have a look where it came from. See if she really is still out there."

He worked well into the morning. Because I was not much help, and hopelessly tired, I ended up dozing off.

When I woke up, he was not in the workshop. So, I got up and searched around.

"MR STARK?!" I shouted through the empty corridors. I then heard a commotion come from another room. I ran over to find Mr Stark pointing a finger into the wizard we previously went to for help chest. "Mr Stark? What's going on?" I asked, causing Mr Stark to step back and look at me. "I tracked the location of the call, but I couldn't find it in any maps or GPS. Instead, when I asked F.R.I.D.A.Y to show me, it went off the side of the map, and into pitch black. So, I called this know-it-all to tell me where it is and how to get there. But as usual, he doesn't care!" Exclaimed Mr Stark. "It's not that I don't care, it's that where you pinpointed, that is the lowest of the dark dimension you can get and-" I saw Mr Stark open his mouth ready to shout. "OH, SHUT IT! Quit making excuses! You are the one who got her into this mess! You, 'my friend', will be the one to get her out! No more of this 'it's too deep', 'it's too dangerous' my 14-year-old daughter is down there so I think a cosplaying 30-year-old can as well!!!" He shouted, prodding a finger into his chest, before sighing and sinking into a chair.

The wizard walked out without saying anything.

We did not hear from him in days, so we presumed he was not helping. But, that afternoon, he came back with a battered, yellow glowing book in hand. "This is the dark hold. An ancient book of spells with uncomprehending power. It had been kept in the Kamar-Taj library for over 20 years. In this book, it contains prophesies of the greatest things to ever live, or events still to come. Y/n is in this book, I'm sure of it. It describes 'a power unmatched of any witch or sorcerer. In tune with the power created from the Big Bang. (The infinity stones.) It is said to be a born power, activated when it encounters an infinity stone. Prophesied to have power which exceeds those of the sorcerer supreme.'" He closed the book and looked Mr Stark dead in the eyes.

"This is why, I cannot go down there. None of us can. She is down there; her powers are slowly spiralling out of her control. The darkness of the dimension playing a part in that. I have felt the energy rising from the dark dimension since a few days after her initial disappearance. It would be unwise to go there. We just must try and help her, from here. Unless we all want to trigger the end of the universe."

I sat there in silence. We all did after that.
