Chapter 11: Choices

We had dinner and everyone was happy and laughing, except for me. I had a decision to make, Leon or my mom. I didn't understand what was going on and everyone could see I wasn't myself.

German: Vilu, are you okay?

Violetta: Yes, I'm perfectly fine. Excuse me, I'm going to my room. Thanks for dinner Olga, it was great like always.

My dad knew I was lying about being fine. He then looked straight at Leon, but I just ran upstairs.

Leon's (POV)
I could see Mr Castillo look at me to go check what's wrong with his daughter, so I excused myself too and went after Violetta. She was in her room sitting on the bed with her head buried in her pillow.

Leon: What's wrong my love?

Violetta: A lot Leon.

She ran into my chest and cried whist I held her tight until she was able to speak. We moved to sit on the bed, and I waited for a few minutes before asking her to open up.

Leon: Talk to me, what's going on? You've been acting differently ever since you got a message before dinner.

Violetta: I have to choose Leon!

Leon: What do you have to choose?

Violetta: Choose between you and my mother!

Her eyes were filled with tears and it was flowing heavily down.

Leon: Okay, I'm confused. Please explain from the beginning.

Violetta explained everything to me and all I did was sit there and listen. I was speechless and I had no idea what to think or say.

Violetta: So, someone is making me choose to either stay with you or to find out what happened to my mother that night.

Violetta's (POV)
I showed him the message and he looked distraught. His eyes started glistening, I had never seen him like this before.

Leon: Wow, so umm... What are you going to do? Is she alive? 

Violetta: I don't know what to do. She's been dead since I was 5 years old. I don't know how she could still be alive, but one thing is for sure, I'm not going to choose between my boyfriend and my dead mother, I can't! I need to find out who 'M' is, it could be anyone.

Leon: Maybe it's the initials of someone?

Violetta: Who, my mother? Because she's the only one I know with the initial's 'M'. The only other person is Maxi, but he wouldn't do this.

Leon: Yeah, it can't be Maxi. What's your mother's first name?

Violetta: It's Maria, she was the love of my dad's life before she died.

Leon: How did she die, may I ask?

Violetta: All I knew was that she was in a car accident coming from her last show she was ever going to do again.

Leon: I'm sorry. Thank you for telling me, you don't ever talk about her, so it must've been difficult for you to confide in me.

Violetta: Yeah, it isn't something I like talking about, but since we're in this relationship, I'll be as open and honest as I can with you.

Leon: I appreciate that, but I think you should consider choosing your mother over me, it'll be best. Or look, why don't I make this easy for you, why don't we just break up?

Violetta: What! No my love, I am not choosing! I want you to help me find out who sent me this message.

Leon: I want to help you, but if you can get information about your mother, you need to do whatever it takes.
