Chapter 41: EndgaMe Part 2

Present time

Tomas pushed Leon out of the way and aimed the gun straight at me. I knew I was a goner. Then someone jumped in front of me and I heard a bang, it was Federico!

Violetta: No! Federico! No, no, no, no, no! Please, you can't leave me!

Federico: It's okay Vilu. It was my fault you got into this mess. I couldn't stand to see my big sister get put in hospital again.

Violetta: No Fede! I can't lose you! I just found out about you!

Federico: I'll be okay! It's better me than you...

Ludmila rushed in to see Federico lying on my lap with blood dripping on the floor. She fell to her knees and I backed away.

Federico's (POV)
I got to Violetta's house and I heard the conversation when I was standing by the door. The cops told me to wait, but when I heard the last words Tomas said, I decided to take actions into my own hands. I opened the door, stood in front of Violetta and then there was a bang! I saw blood dripping down from my chest. Tomas had shot me. I fell to the ground and I said my final words to Violetta. Then my lovely Ludmila showed up. With tears in her eyes she kept screaming my name, not letting me go.

Ludmila: Please Federico, you can't leave me! Keep fighting!

Federico: It's okay, my love. Just know whatever happens... I love you!

Ludmila: NO! FEDERICO! I LOVE YOU TOO!!! Please stay with me!

And that was the last thing I said before I closed my eyes, and everything went pitch black.

Leon's (POV)
When Tomas shot Federico, I hit the gun out of his hand and knocked him out. I called the ambulance and the cops came in to take Tomas away for good. Soon after, the ambulance arrived, and the paramedics took Federico to the hospital. The gang came inside, and we all hugged each other in relief. Violetta, Ludmila and I went to the hospital and there we saw German and Angie.

German: Violetta! Ludmila! Leon! I'm so happy you all are okay!

Violetta: Dad, how is Federico doing? Is he alive?

German: We are not sure yet, but we'll find out hopefully soon!

Angie: What happened?

Leon: Long story short... Tomas tried to shoot Violetta because he wanted to kill both Castillo's. Yes, he killed your first wife German. Then as Tomas pulled the trigger, Fede came out of nowhere and took the bullet. I knocked Tomas out and now he is in jail.

German: Yeah, the police filled me in on the Tomas story, they didn't tell me the full story about the shooting though. Oh, and speaking about shooting people... You and I need to talk about that kiss Mr Vargas. You two were so great, but that kiss wasn't part of the choreography. I know this because my wife told me that you were just supposed to kiss her on the cheek!

Angie: I said it wasn't part of the choreography, but it made the show even better and it was so cute.

German: No! What he did was wrong, especially since he broke my daughter's heart!

Violetta: No dad, stop yelling! We're in a hospital! You have no right to be upset because you lied to me! You never told me that I had a twin brother! I remember when I was 12, you said that Rico was my imaginary friend, but he was actually my brother!

German: I did it to protect you, I'm really sorry...

Violetta: Sorry isn't going to cut it dad. And plus, Leon actually didn't break my heart. We faked the entire thing because Tomas was threatening us to break up, or else he'd hurt me again. He didn't want to risk that, so he suggested we fake the breakup so that Tomas can think he won when actually we just planned to beat him together.

Angie: Why didn't you tell us he was threatening you guys?

Leon: We couldn't tell anyone. He said that he was going to kill Maxi if we told any of you. We also couldn't and didn't want to risk it as we didn't want any of you to get hurt.

German: Oh... Well then, I'm sorry for shouting. I was wrong, I know.

Violetta: Save it, I'm tired of you always trying to control my life!

Violetta ran away and Ludmila followed her. German looked upset and then spoke to me nervously.

German: Leon, I want to thank you for keeping my daughter safe.

Leon: I didn't, Federico saved her, not me.

German: You were still there, and he could've shot her after Federico had been shot, but you took him out to keep her safe. So, thank you.

Leon: Anytime German, I'll always protect Violetta.

A few hours later...

Dr Hamza: We have news about Federico Paccini Castillo.

German: Hi, is he okay?

Dr Hamza: He is going to recover, but it will take time. He is awake and would like to quickly see Ludmila, Violetta and Leon?

German: You guys go, we'll go see him afterwards.

We went into his room and saw him lying there with a relieved look on his face.

Ludmila: My love, I'm so glad you're okay!

Federico: I'm fine, what happened to Tomas.

Leon: He is currently sitting in jail. I'm glad you're alright Fede. Thank you for saving her.

Federico: I'll always protect my big sister. I'm sorry for punching you the other day, I was pretty mad before I found out that you messed with all of us.

Leon: No, it's okay, I kinda deserved it.

Violetta: So, how much older am I to you, since we're twins?

Federico: 3 minutes and 46 seconds.

Violetta: But then why is your birthday a day after mine if we're twins?

Federico: You were born at 23:58 and I was born at 00:01, that's why my birthday is technically a day after yours.

Ludmila: Are you sure you don't need anything, my love?

Federico: Just a kiss for now, come here.

They kissed in front of us and Violetta and I looked at each other and smiled. I then turned her around to face them and wrapped my arms around her and held her from behind.

Violetta: Alright lovebirds, go get a room!

Ludmila: You're the last people in the world to say that! You can barely keep your hands off one another.

Leon: That may be true, but at least I'm in love with my girlfriend. I just realised that if Priscilla and German got married, then you and Federico would've been step siblings.

Ludmila, Federico: GROSS! I would've split them up!

We all started laughing after they spoke in unison. Days later, Federico got out of the hospital and everything was fine again. Things went back to the way it was, for the rest of the year.
