5 | The Slimy Creature

(From this point on the story will be written in a first-person point of view. It is still talking about Danny)

"Oh no, that note was weird. We need to find a way out, also I wonder what it meant by "don't let them touch you."  I said out loud

I found another paper that had the numbers 71421 on it. I need to remember those numbers, they could be important.

I was about to start searching for ways to get out when I realized that Adrian was missing.  I found him quickly. He was eating all the food in the cupboards.

"Are you serious?! I need food too you know."

"Sorry, you wouldn't want them anyways they taste pretty stale," Adrian said
After we were done we found a button that opened a door and we left the room.

The next room was pretty big, it had many other doors. I tried opening them but they wouldn't budge. I saw a keypad that had room for a 5 digit code. I thought about what the password would be.

"Hey, Adrian you have any idea what the password to this door is?" I said to Adrian

I decided to ignore the door for now and I looked around some more. Behind some boxes, at the end of the room, there was another door that had a sign above it that read "Exit".

I tried opening the door but it wouldn't open. I went back to the door with the keypad, then it hit me, I had the slip of paper with the numbers on it, maybe that was the password. I read aloud as I typed in the keypad.

"71421."

*BEEP*

After the noise, the door opened a tall white figure that resembled a fox stood there with a greedy expression on its face.

"Ummm, RUN!" I said to Adrian

At first, I didn't know where to run, I remembered the door behind the boxes but I didn't think it would be open. As we ran it caught up to us, that white fox creature was pretty darn fast. I thought about if we could fight it off but I didn't want to risk it, me and Adrian were both weak from being trapped in those pods for a while and I thought back to the note that said " Don't Let Them Touch You At All Costs."

We ran to the door ready to find it locked but to our surprise it was open. Weird, I thought, maybe the other door that we opened triggered something.

"Wait, will that thing be able to open the door?" Adrian said to me

"Umm I don't know we should hurry and get out of here, I don't want to find out."

There was like a bunch of boxes that we could barely push, we were pretty darn weak. We tried pushing the boxes as much as we could and it revealed an opening. We started walking and we saw a cat sleeping on a bed, the cat looked like the other creature. It was gooey but instead, this time not white but brown with spots.

(Just note that this is not actually what happened as I said at the very beginning.)

We started running and we didn't know where to go. The door with the exit sign was locked and so was every other door. Me and Adrian started running back to the door we came out of. The door was surprisingly locked. We watched in horror as the creature split into two blobs of white goo, One jumping on me and one Adrian. We tried to get it off by grabbing at it but that only made it worse. The goo spread from our fingers to our arms and then chest. Seemingly slowly liquifying our entire bodies. We watched in horror as the thing covered our faces and eyes. The feeling was weird. It was as if our bodies were changing. My body felt weird almost as if my bones had been removed and I was more flexible and light. I couldn't see anything because of the goo still covering my eyes. Suddenly it went into my mouth and I could feel myself getting a little light-headed. My insides felt weird. After this whole process was over I opened my new eyes and saw that me and Adrian looked like that fox creature, we were both liquids and covered in a white gooey fur-like substance. We both looked kinda cute in a way, the same way that an animal would. I could feel all of my senses increase and I was thinking differently almost as if my brain was merged with whatever creature that was. We were happy, life was much more simple, as our new forms were much easier to use.
