A/N: This part takes place shortly before WoF book 1.
Falcon flew quickly though the rain forest. Her giant Skywing wings making her faster, but also slowing her down through the tight trees. She clutched the small baby dragonet to her chest tightly. I never should have done this. They can never find out! She thought over and over to herself.
She ran into a tree. "By the moons! Cures this darkness." She looked down. Her dragonet had woken up. Thankfully, hey were at the village now. Falcon landed on a platform.
"Mrrrrrrrk?" the dragonet said, squirming around in Falcons hold.
"No, I don't have any food if that is what you're asking." Falcon snapped. Then her town lightened in retaliation. "Oh, you're looking at the sunrise."
It really was a sight to behold. The red, orange and yellow light shining through the treetops light up the sky, warming Falcon's snout. The last moon was just disappearing under the tree line. The day had begun.
"If only your father were here to see this. . . right Dawn?" That would be her name. Like the sunrise. Only, the dragonet wasn't listening. She poked on of the low hanging branches with her tiny claw, and giggled when it swung away from her, only to come right back. A fir tree.
Dawnfir. A little piece of each of her parents, even if they could all never be together. Her father would be proud, Falcon thought. Suddenly, she snapped out of her trance. "I need to go."
Quickly walking over to the Rainwing hatchery, Falcon set down the dragonet. "I am sorry my little dragonet, but I am loyal to my Queen. Don't worry though. I will be back soon." I hope. . . she thought. Giving Dawnfir one last look, she flew off into the sunrise.
A/N: That one was shorter than most of my others will be but having them short means I can update more. Thanks for reading!
