Star woke up in total darkness. The only thing she could focus on was the throbbing in her head. Once when she and Midnight were much younger, they had gone to the old Nightwing island. They had gone there without telling anyone, and it was horrible. They hadn't gone past the entrance cave. It was dark and smelled like ash and dead things. Every breath you took you inhaled more and more ash and smoke. They had turned around and bolted back down the tunnel as fast as their wings would carry them, vowing never to return.
Stardust was not on the old Nightwing island, but around her, the darkness had the same sensation. Slowly, she pealed open her eyes. She was still in a cave. Great. This one was smaller, and there was a dragon sitting on the floor across from her, asleep. She opened her eyes a little more. The dragon across from her was a Skywing? It made sense, this was Skywing territory after all. He was snoring peacefully about five feet away, free. Unlike her. Thick ropes tied her front and back talons together. But her snout was unbound.
So, it must not be a very experienced villain. Slowly, Star sat up into a sitting position and scooted back against the wall of the cave. One of her back talons struck a sharp rock, and she cringed, begging her mouth to stay quiet. She let out a little squeak. Ow! Her mind screamed at her. Ow! Ow! Ow! She needed to get out! Find her friends! But she didn't have the energy. Star closed her eyes and again and gave into darkness.

A/N OK guys, I just realized that this is a lot like WoF book 3 when Glory gets kidnapped, and I swear I didn't mean to. I'll try harder to keep this book as original as I can.
Star was tired. True, she had just woken up, but she was still tired. Groggily, she opened her eyes. The sleeping Skywing that used to be across from her in the cave, was gone. Oh no this is bad. She thought to herself. Then started to rethink it. On one talon, she didn't need to worry about waking her up or letting her know if-when she escaped. But on the other talon, she might be back at any moment, and see her escaping. Then, another thought struck her. Midnight.
Oh no, what would he think? Why had she been so stupid? She shouldn't have gone back into the cave! Would the others come looking for her? Yes. What if they got kidnapped to?
Ahhh! As much as she hated herself right now, it wasn't going to help her escape, or find her friends. Slowly, Star moved back into a sitting position, and waited silently. She heard nothing. Good time as ever, Stardust thought to herself, she had put it off long enough already.
Gathering her fire in her throat, she blew the smallest amount she could onto the ropes binding her front talons. Unfortunately, it wasn't that small. The flames danced around the rope and didn't stop when they reached the end. My Talons are burning! Star was frantic. Her arms finally free, she waved them around trying to stop the fire. Even when it was out it still stung. Star needed water! But first, she needed to get out of there. Star blew fire onto the ropes her back talons more careful this time. Right when the ropes snapped, she fanned it with her wings.
Finally free, Stardust staggered to her feet and started out the cave.
Announcement: The whole story leading up to here, I wrote in advance, so I just needed to edit this before I published it, STILL a lot of work for me. I am starting to have some writers block, so along with that, updating will probably be slower, but I am very determined to get to the end!
