A/N Sorry this is really short, but it's important. ;)
For Dawn, the three days couldn't seem to pass quick enough, and for everyone else, they passed all too quickly. It had really been three and a half days, but they needed the extra time. Star had gone to the new rain forest library and picked out the most detailed map of Pyrrhia she could find. Meanwhile, Midnight was making pouched to carry their things they would need for the journey, and Cherry was trying to find the most savable fruit to pack. Lastly, Dawn was drilling them in long distance flying, much to Cherry's dismay. Finally, finally, they were ready to go.
Dawn slung her bag over her neck and took a deep breath. It was about midday, and they were all gathered on the platform above the tree house. "Time to go. Ready?"
She looked at each of her friends. All of them were nodding and staring at the mountains in the distance. The edge of the Sky kingdom.
"Wait! Your parents know you're coming right?" She asked the twins. Cherry didn't know her family. Almost no Rainwings did. The Nightwings on the other hand, did.
"Yes. I told them we were going to explore the rain forest with you and Cherry wouldn't be back for a while."
Dawn nodded. Many of the Nightwings didn't approve of hybrids. The twins parents thought Dawn was a Rainwing, and she had never met them. All they knew was that their dragonets left almost every day to play in the rain forest with two Rainwing. To be fair, they didn't completely approve of that either, but they were just glad Midnight and Star were making a friend.
Dawn's thoughts were interrupted by Star nudging her shoulder. "Huh? Oh-thanks for telling them. Think they will be convinced?"
"For a little bit yes," Midnight said thoughtfully. "After a while they will get suspicious. but that's okay, because you need this." She nodded again.
Midnight squeezed her talons, but no one made a move toward the edge. Finally, Cherry called out, "Onward!" They were off.
