My things did arrive on time. It took four hours to unpack, longer than I expected. When I finished I left full metal alchemist posters on every square inch of my wall. Leaving manga pages as wallpaper and a huge heart around my Alphonse picture.
I had a huge crush on him.
After unpacking I wanted to say my goodbyes to dad even if I was going to see him every morning- apart from Saturday I guess. Our only day off in the week was Saturday.
"Karasu, where are you going? It's a bit dark outside." Midoriya passed by me, holding a laundry basket.
"I just wanted some fresh air y'know?" His gaze lingered on me for a good while, I wanted to know what was going on in that secretly dark head of his. After all, he was talking to himself or staring into mid-air all the time. Mysterious but I like it.
"Be careful out there." He continued on after standing in a spot for what seemed like forever. I shrugged it off and went on with my day, only leaving him a smile.
Sighing, I went on outside, staring at my cellphone in boredom. Dad never takes his phone when he goes on patrol. Which is pretty stupid of him but I can understand why.
"Karasu! Where are you going?! You promised to stay up with us girls!" Jirou interrupted and before I could explain, an invisible hand I hadn't seen coming grabbed onto mine.
I flinched, her grip hard yet gentle. "Come on! We wanted to see this movie..." At this point, I'd feel too bad if I rejected them so I just let her and Jirou lead me to Momo's room, knowing that I'd regret not going to find dad.
All the girls were there- all but Tsuyu. Three of us on the bed and the other three on the floor. I was sandwiched between Ochaco and Jirou.
"So how is Mr Aizawa as a dad?" Mina asked, hugging Momo's arm.
"He looks drained as hell- but that's only because he's on night patrol!" I said as if they already didn't know. I had bad attachment anxiety when it came to him so I was pretty sure I'd end up crying if I got the chance to be alone.
While thinking of him I unconsciously smiled. Beginning the small story.
Our grey cat Myowmyow was chasing after me with a dead mouse in between her jaw. I yelled, bouncing all over the furniture in circles to get away from him.
"DAD! DAD MYOWMYOW CAUGHT A DEAD MOUSE! DAAAAAD!" I frantically called, my legs aching from the overwhelming chase.
Out of a sudden, my dad popped in through the door with his bright yellow PJs, determination glistening in his usually dead black eyes.
Just before Myowmyow could hop onto the couch I was taking refuge on, dad pounced towards us.
"Gotcha!" He announced proudly as he held MyowMyow's waist, shaking her softly until she let go of the deceased mouse.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I dropped on the white couch, keeping my gaze away from the disgusting creature on the floor.
"There..." He yawned after cleaning up the mess. Myowmyow was fast asleep in her small bed. How dare she sleep peacefully knowing that she traumatised me!? I still had shivers from seeing the lifeless mouse.
"Dad..." I spoke, going back to his room with him. He hummed tiredly in response. "Can't you patrol in daylight?" I whimpered, lowering my head sadly.
I hated seeing him so exhausted all the time- and plus he wasn't there to comfort me at night anymore. But it was embarrassing of me to even request it of him.
