Training

I woke up with a strange feeling of delight, which doubled when I realised what had happened the night before. Peter had taken me on a midnight swing of New York, and we had kissed. I was now officially Peter Parker's girlfriend. And I started training today.
I checked the clock: it was around 9.
I ran to my closet and pulled on a sweater and jeans, before checking my hair and rushing downstairs.
"Someone's eager." Steve commented as I flew past him to the kitchen.
"It's because she starts training today, remember?" Tony quipped, walking into the kitchen, "I think you're memory gets worse with old age Cap." He added. Cap snorted.
"Ha! You wish!"
I laughed along and sat at the breakfast bar in the kitchen, as a plate of toast floated over to me via the sliding panels in the table.
"Thanks FRIDAY" I said, as I bit into a slice.
"Someone's happy," Nat remarked as she came in the room.
"Come on Nat, not you too! She's training, remember." Tony groaned.
"Yes, I know that, but there's something else too, in her eyes."
"I agree," Wanda gave me a knowing look that Nat mirrored, clearly saying they would ask me later, when Tony wasn't around. I shrugged, not wanting to give too much away, and turned back to my breakfast.
"Y/N?"
"Yes?"
"We'll see you down in the training room in 5,
okay?" Steve told me. I gulped, suddenly feeling the pressure that they were all going to be watching me.
"Oh sweetie I'm sorry," Tony looked up from his phone, "I have to go to a meeting right now, so I can't watch you train."
"Actually dad, that's okay. I'd rather you see me beat up Cap that Cap beat me up." I replied, earning laughs from all the others, except Cap, who pulled a face.
"Good attitude, kiddo. Alrighty then. I'll be off." He waved goodbye to the others and gave me a hug, before grabbing his bag and suit jacket off the chair and walking out the kitchen.
"Go and get changed Y/N, and we'll meet you down there." Bruce told me.
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" I looked down at my outfit, not seeing a problem.
"It's not very, suitable for training," Clint explained, "Maybe something a little more, battle like material?"
I smiled, knowing exactly what to wear.
"Meet you down there!"

I walked into the training centre in the basement, feeling pretty good. I had picked black sports leggings and a long sleeved blue T-Shirt under a black armoured vest. I had chosen to put my hair up in a ponytail with a few strands falling out, and no makeup. I felt ready.
"Damn, Y/N you look like one of us!" Exclaimed Clint, "All you need is a weapon now!"
"Don't give her ideas, Clint, she'll raid Tony's stock tonight." Bruce countered. They all laughed.
"Okay Y/N, here's the deal." Wanda took over, "You'll go into that area," she pointed to an area with a large plasticky looking dome around it, "and we'll watch what you can do as you practise your powers, giving you tips and hints as you do."
"Then, once you feel ready enough to fight, one of us will get in with you and have a little scrap, while the others watch." Nat interjected.
"So, I can practise for as long as I need?" I asked, already raring to go.
"Yup, and then one of us, probably Clint first, let's face it," Cap added with a smirk at Clint, "will go in and fight you. Just a play fight though, we won't use our "powers" against you."
"I would." Wanda said, looking directly at me. "But I'm only mentoring today." She stared at me, daring me to break eye contact. I looked away, breaking the spell she had on me, and smiled.
"Okay guys, I'm ready to go in."

About 8 hours, five failed attempts to beat the other Avengers, and three collapses later, I was exhausted.
I had been using my powers non stop since I got in the dome, to fight against animated villains, practise throwing illusions far away, and floating objects towards me. The Avengers had been true to their word: they had given me at least 200 "hints and tips" on how to fight back properly, Wanda had shown me how to use my mind control well, and I could make weapons fly into my hand from across the dome. They all clapped when I did something right, and when I collapsed, they always rushed in and helped me up again. But even though I was really tired, I had one more Avenger to beat, besides Wanda.
I waved to them, to signal I was ready, took a deep breath and asked for the last Avenger.
Nat, as predicted, stepped forward in her Black Widow uniform, and walked into the arena.
"Don't worry, I'll go easy on you," she told me, seeing my worried look from across the other side. I nodded. The arena had been animated to look like I was dodging blocks, as well as real life objects too.
"Three, two, one!" Bruce counted down.
I ran towards Nat, using my red dust powers to move the blocks out of my way to get a clear path.
Wanda clapped her hands.
I then conjured up an illusion and threw it across to where she was standing, to make it look like she was running towards a group of screaming people who were about to be crushed. She skidded to a stop, leaving me to lift myself over the last few blocks and run towards her. She realised it was one of my illusions and ran through it. She threw a knife at me, and I tripped in my haste to avoid it. I crashed into the floor, feeling a little blood trickle down my forehead. I heard gasps come from the others outside, but I knew I couldn't give up now. I summoned all my powers and flew high into the air, then dipped down. I stopped straight in front of Nat in a crouching position, and summoned a dagger from the weapons panel. I grabbed her arm, twisting it round behind her back where I had a good hold, before placing the dagger against her throat.  "Checkmate." I smirked. She raised his hands up in a surrender gesture and I let the dagger drop down. As I turned I heard another knife being drawn from the sheath at her waist. As quick as a flash, I whipped round and used my powers to steal the knife from her and into my hand. I kicked her back into the wall, and watched in satisfaction as she hit her head and fell down.
The others cheered.
I turned to them and took a bow, before walking out of the arena and straight into an Avengers group hug.
"That was amazing Y/N!" Bruce shouted.
"Yes, well done," Thor told me, patting my head.
"Beautifully done, Y/N, I'm very proud of you," Wanda's soft voice spoke up. Nat walked out of the arena, and they clapped her too.
"You did good Nat. But she was better." Cap laughed.
"Gee thanks Cap."  Nat quipped, but she laughed too.
"You did really good, Y/N." Clint said.
"Tony will be so proud." Nat smiled, ruffling my hair. I was so happy, and, besides Dad, one more person would've made it complete....
"Y/N! That was awesome!" A voice called from the doorway. I looked over and locked eyes with Peter.
"Peter!" I cried, and I ran over to him. But because I had been training for hours, I started to fall.
"Y/N!" He swooped in and caught me just in time.
"Sorry Peter, I'm pretty tired," I laughed as he twirled me upright.
"Yeah we've been training her all day." Steve sounded impressed.
"I actually think I might have a lie down before dinner, if that's okay. I'm pretty exhausted." I said, starting to walk away, Peter still holding my arm.
I looked back at them, and caught them exchanging glances with one another. Uh oh.
"Young Peter?" Thor called, and Peter turned around.
"Yes, Thor?"
"Can i have a word with you?"
Peter looked startled. He looked at my face, a look of panic on his, and I nodded, signalling that we should tell them if they ask. He visibly relaxed, and called back to Thor.
"Sure, I'll just be a minute getting Y/N to her room."
"Wanda and I will take care of that, Peter." Natasha stepped forward, an odd look on her face. Wanda did too.
"Yes, thank you Peter, but we'll take it from here." She smiled.
"Okay, see you later Y/N."
"Bye Peter." I said, as Nat and Wanda walked with me to my room.
