I took a deep breath, grabbed my back, double checked I looked okay, and walked downstairs. The other Avengers were waiting for me at the bottom, and they all gave me a smile and patted my shoulder as I walked to the door.
"Honestly, you guys are acting as if it's my first day ever of school. I have been before, you know?"
They laughed.
"But it's special, because technically this is your first day of school, with us. With me." Tony told me, reaching out to give me a hug. Tears welled in my eyes, but I blinked them back, not wanting to cry on my very first day at my new school, Midtown High. Not to mention I was going with Peter, who also went there, in his Aunt's car. Yup, no crying here.
I hugged Tony, and he whispered "You're gonna be amazing, kid."
"Now remember, you are Y/N Evans, your dad works for Stark Industries and Nat and Steve are your aunt and uncle who live with you, got it?" He said firmly.
I nodded, and saluted at my dad, who let out a chuckle.
I waved goodbye to them as I stepped out the door and into the driveway, where Peter and his Aunt were waiting for me.
"Goodbye Y/N! Have a good day!" They called out, still waving from the front door.
I gave them one last wave as I opened the car door, before slipping inside and tucking my bag neatly beside me.
"Hey," Peter's voice made me jump. I turned to look at him and, oh my god he looked amazing.
He was wearing a flannel shirt with jeans, not that special but he looked perfect to me. His hair was messed up, but still looked really good. And when he smiled at me, I swear the whole world got a little brighter.
He looked at me expectantly, and I realised I had been silently staring at him for at least a minute.
"Sorry, what was that?"
"Are you excited?"
"Yeah. I think it's gonna be good."
I realised I hadn't even introduced myself to Peter's aunt yet, so I did.
"Hi, I'm Y/N, you must be Peter's aunt."
"That right Y/N, I'm May. But I know who you are, Peter talks about you all the time." She added with a wink.
"May!" Peter went red.
Just then, my phone buzzed with a message. "It's Nat," I explained, "Tony wants to teach them all about 'the young people's technology'  so they go better with the cover story, but Steve's  having none of it, so Nat took over. She wants to make the Aunt story believable."
Peter looked confused, but then realised what I was talking about and gave me a smile. He suddenly remembered something.
"Oh, and Y/N, I forgot to tell you, I synced up our timetables so we would be in almost all the same classes, and the ones I'm not in, you'll be with MJ or Ned."
"Who are they again?"
He hit his face with his hand.
"I can't believe I forgot to tell you who my best friends were!"
"Oh, right," I nodded, "Thanks for doing that Pete. I'm glad I don't have to be alone today." His eyes widened slightly at me using a nickname for him, and I giggled.
"Good news Y/N, we're almost here," came May's voice from the front of the car. "Hope you have a good day."
"Thanks May." I already loved her.
"Come on Y/N, I'll take you to registration and you'll meet Ned and MJ there." He looked excited as he took my hand and pulled me from the car. I noticed he kept his hand in mine as we walked through the school, people glancing at Peter and the new  girl next to him.
"Peter, why are people staring?" I whispered, already dreading that I would trip in front of all of them.
"You're new Y/N, we don't get many new people here." He whispered back, "And don't worry, if you fall, I'll definitely catch you." He added, as if he could read my mind. "It's this one here." He pointed to a door on the right. "You ready?"
"As ready as I'll ever be."

I needn't have worried though. Peter led me over to where his friends, a boy on his phone and a girl slouching in her chair, were sitting, and introduced me.
"Ned, MJ, this is Y/N Evans." He let go of my hand and pushed me forward a little.
"Um, thanks Peter. Yeah, hi." I gave them a small smile, and then noticed something MJ had in her bag. "Is that the new Crimes for Dimes book? I love them! Have you read the one with Diana Seacrest and it turns out she threw the jewels in the cellar with the victim?"
"Yes!" MJ said, suddenly sitting upright in her chair. "That's one of my favourite books ever! Peter, you told us so much about her, and yet you never mentioned she reads?!" She smirked, knowing exactly what she had said.
He looked at MJ with a pained look on his face, as Ned began to laugh. Peter had told his friends about me. The thought made me smile.
Peter pulled up a chair for me, and sat down next to Ned. Ned asked me the first question. "Y/N, how long have you and Peter been dating?"
"Around a month, maybe a little longer?" I added with a smile at Peter.
"Really? Cause he told us about you much further back than a month ago." MJ laughed, and so did Ned, whereas Peter and I were both blushing furiously.
Ned and MJ eventually recovered, and continued to quiz me throughout registration, until the bell went, signalling that we had to go to class. Peter took my hand again, and ignoring the looks MJ sent us, started leading me to my first class, Chemistry. I liked Chemistry, so that was pretty good.
I sat next to Peter in almost all my classes, apart from English, where I sat with MJ, and Gym, when they split up the boys and girls.
"So Y/N, what are your thoughts on Gym class?"
"I don't have a single sports bone in my body."
"Good," she replied, "You can sit with me and stare at Peter across the gym while I read my book." At this statement I blushed, and she laughed. "Your blush is so cute. You're very easy to embarrass, you know."
"It's probably my worst trait." I admitted, looking down at the floor, and then I slammed into someone and tripped, heading straight for the floor, until I caught myself, glad I hadn't fallen in front of everyone. "That and being the clumsiest person on the planet." I muttered, which made MJ laugh even more. I liked her, even though she was pretty sarcastic and made fun of me and Peter all day.
I was glad I  had been accepted into their little group so easily, and that they joked with me like I had been here for years, and not hours. Everything was great. I sat with them at lunch, and ate my salad that Wanda made me.
"Really Y/N? Salad?" MJ looked down at my lunch in distain, eyeing it up like it was an enemy spy.
"What's wrong with it?" I asked, causing her to sigh and reach into her bag.
"No way," I heard Ned whisper to Peter, and I felt alarmed. What was she going to do?!
But my anxiety faded to nothing as she brought out a plastic container, took a cookie out of it  and broke it in half. "Here," she passed me the cookie, "you have to eat it, because I gave it to you, and I never give food away to anyone. Ever." Ned and Peter's solemn faces told me she was telling the truth.
"Thank you, but why did you give me this?"
"You're eating a salad for lunch on your first day, and I think that's pretty sad. So I'm giving you this cookie to eat as well, so you don't go hungry, okay?"
"Um. Thank you," I replied, looking at Peter with a confused look.
"You basically just got sworn into the group, Y/N. Congrats." Peter laughed, and so did MJ and Ned.
"You could've just told me that!" But I laughed along too.
After school had finished, and May ha dropped us off at my house, Peter walked me to the front door.
"Would you like to come for dinner on Friday, at my place?" He blurted out.
"Yes please!" I practically shouted, "Sorry, I meant "that would be really nice, thank you for offering Peter."" I attempted in my best British accent.
"Of course M'lady," Peter added with a sweeping bow, reminding me of our first kiss. He leaned in, and kissed me quickly, before whispering, "I had a really good day, Y/N." then walking back to the car.
My heart fluttered, and I gave him a smile, before going inside.
"Hey!" The other Avengers shouted from the hallway, scaring me and making me jump.
"Hey guys," I laughed.
"Let me take your bag," Steve offered, holding out a hand.
"Allow me," Wanda interrupted, before lifting the bag out of my hands and onto a chair in the kitchen, via her red powers.
"Show off," muttered Steve, which made us all laugh again.
"If you would let me through, I would ask my daughter to tell us about her day, please," Tony's voice cut through the noise.
"Dad!"
"Y/N!"
I ran towards him and hugged him, and then he gently led me over to a sofa.
"So tell us all about your day, please." Nat asked.
And I told them everything, from registration to Ned and MJ, and lunch, and all my classes and teachers. They all looked interested, and Bruce let out a massive laugh at the idea of me tripping in the hallway,
"Only you could trip in a hallway so tightly packed and in front of them all,  Y/N"
After I told them all, we watched TV for a little while,  then Tony, Nat, Steve and I all played Monopoly, while the others prepared dinner.
I was exhausted by the time I crawled into my bed, not even bothering to read my book, only sending a goodnight text to Peter, before switching my light off and falling asleep instantly.
