Today was Saturday and Lucas was taking me out to eat tonight.

I layed around most of the day watching Netflix and started getting ready at a quarter to 5.

I took a shower, making sure I shaved every inch of my legs. I finished washing and turned off the hot water. I stepped out of the tub, wrapping a bright blue towel around my body and walked to my room.

I let my hair air dry as I sat on my bed trying to decide what to wear.

It was almost six and I didn't want to be late so I just grabbed a bright yellow sundress that stopped just before my knee.

I quickly straightened my hair and applied a light cover of make-up.

At 6:30 I put on a cute dark denim jacket, slipped on some white flats and headed downstairs.

My grandpa was at the grocery store so I wrote a quick note and stuck it to the fridge.

Grabbing my purse and keys, I headed out the door. There was a little bit of traffic but I made it to the school parking right at 7. I parked next to Lucas and looked over and waved.

He smiled back at me as I got out of my car and into his.

"Hey! How's your day been?" I asked as I buckled my seatbelt.

"I've just be going over pictures from last nights game. You took some great photos!" He said turning out of the lot.

"Thank you! And thanks for asking me out....to dinner I mean....you know, um well..thanks for going over the pictures with me" I said stuttering over my words.

Lucas turned bright red and I tried to ignore it.

I can't believe I just said that! I so didn't mean to embarrass him.

The rest of the car ride was a little awkward but I tried changing the subject and asked him a bunch of random questions about yearbook.

We arrived at The Grille after about 20 minutes of him driving and me asking endless questions.

After parking he grabbed his camera and we headed inside.

"Wow this place looks nice!" I say as I take in the wide open space filled with spacious wooden tables with shiny steel chairs. It was very....modern.

"Here, you have a seat. I'll grab us some menus!" He said pointing to a table then walking away.

I sat down placing my purse in the chair next to me. The restaurant was surrounded by large windows that took up most of each wall.

The sun was setting and I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful mix of oranges and purples as the sun slowly set.

"Here's a menu!" Lucas said handing me the list of options.

"I usually get a burger with cheese fries, there burgers are so good."

"Um yeah that sounds yummy!" I said with a smile.

We placed our order and while we waited Lucas went over some of last night's shots.

"This one with the QB ready to throw is perfectly framed by the team on the side lines. And this one where the crowds going crazy after a touch down, there's so much emotion! I think these will definitely be in the yearbook." He said showing me some of the photos I took.

Wow. They do look nice. It looks like I haven't lost my touch.

"Melanie? Melanie?" I hear Lucas say.

"Sorry, I'm just surprised." I say with a laugh. "The pictures turned out better than I expected".

"Hey, I'm gonna go to the bathroom quick before the food gets here." He said standing up and setting his camera on the table.
