Owl and Ueta had walked for some time throughout the small settlement after parting with Yang. Ueta had fully awoken at this point and was looking ahead with a childlike grin plastered on her face. Owl was looking at the buildings with bewilderment and some nostalgia as the large structures reminded him somewhat of Ashina. He cast his gaze down to Ueta. The girl in question was looking at her bare feet now. This reminded owl that she needed clothes that would suit the cold environment. He took a quick scan of the current area. He'd need currency, of that he was certain, but how would he get some. As if the gods themselves answered him a very well dressed man walked out of the building in front of them chastising someone on the other end of a call. With all the grace of a wounded animal Owl collapsed on the ground and started yelping about his knee in front of the woman. This startled Ueta out of her thought as she looked down at her caretaker and started to panic. "Dad!" she exclaimed quickly rushing to his side. Owl gave a silent chuckle at how quick she had taken to calling him dad. Refocusing his thoughts he watched as the man rushed over and asked if he was okay. He put on his most pathetic voice and spoke "I.. I think my knee collapsed." Hissing through his teeth as he spoke to give the illusion of pain. Then the moment of truth, as the man grabbed his arm to help him up he stumbled towards the man and quickly reached into his pocket and grabbed his wallet then tossing it into his robe with perfect accuracy. Ueta, who is watching from the side caught this and widened her eyes at how easily he did it. Owl then rose to his full hight which caused the man to look up at him in awe, "I think I'm being dramatic, little things always seem a lot bigger then usual at my age," he said with a chuckle. The man who was still gawking at Owl's size just nodded and walked off. Owl then took Ueta's hand and continued walking. After a while Ueta spoke up, "How did he not notice you took his wallet?" Owl blinked at her, "You saw that?" he asked with mild surprise. Ueta nodded as she stared up at Owl who was currently debating with himself internally. "She has a sharp eye that definitely shows potential, but I can't be too certain yet." That thought gave Owl pause, "Even then I have to decide how to go about her training, making the same mistake with Ueta as I did with Sekrio would be unacceptable, shinobi training or not she is still a human being and my daughter, I must be compassionate yet strict, but it's not time yet." Owl then took the wallet out and counted the lien cards within. Hopefully it was enough for Ueta's clothes. He turned to look at the young fox who was still staring quizzically at him. He kneeled and addressed her with something she never expected to hear, "Young fox, when the time arises and you are of age I will begin to train you in the shinobi arts, there will be a fair amount before your training begins so for now put it in the back of your mind, I only wishes to tell you my thoughts." This had Ueta's mind racing and the great shinobi could see it all written plain as day on her face. He smiled and spotted a nearby clothing store. He stood and grabbed her hand, and began walking towards the store.
Okay so I know it's been a long ass time but life has been catching up to me recently. I've been job hunting, dealing with my relationships, and taking care of a bunch of school stuff. Only now that I'm finding reprieve I'm coming back to my writing. I'm putting aside one or two hours of my time now for writing, and there should be at least two chapters coming out per week (ideally I'm not perfect but I'll stick to it as best I can). That being said the next chapter will be for my Bloodborne story and pardon any nonsensical stuff as I go through the story and gather my thoughts into comprehensive notes. So let's talk the story
Point 1. I'm probably going to write in a massive time skip to cover the gap between Ueta being adopted and begining her training. This isnt something I would do if I had any clue for writing in her growing up though I do plan on covering important things she learned and experienced via flashbacks and memories. I hope the quality will be enough to have everything still be entertaining but we'll see
Point 2. Ueta's training in general will be under Owl's attempt at readjusting the iron code with a less strict/more pure emphasis on family. Granted the only bits we here of the Iron Code in game are during the Great Shinobi Owl boss fight
"One! The parent is absolute. Their will must be obeyed. ...Yet I'm sensing some insubordination" "Two! The master is absolute. You give your life to keep him safe. You bring him back at any cost. ...At this rate, you'll lose him again" "Three! Fear is absolute. There is no shame in losing one battle. But you must take revenge by any means necessary! ...I wonder if you've got it in you - to bring me down." Keep in mind when I say emphasis on family I'm most specifically looking at the "the parent is absolute" part as there is no master and fear is something else entirely I want to cover differently.
Point 3. The main conflict in the story is a brief idea but I haven't given much thought to how it begins, all I know is I want a powerful enemy that challenges our little duo and has tie ins yet no direct influence with the main rwby plot. I'll see about later developments and keep you all updated on my thoughts. I'll see though. For now I'll see you all at the Bloodborne chapter coming out later this week.-Good to be back
