Ueta had finished her food in record time, finishing off the broth and letting out a satisfied sigh and a small smile. Owl stared at her quizzically while he was eating his own meal, and Yang was finishing off her noodles. Owl then realized how unfamiliar everything was to him, now finally taking a look around and making several observations. Firstly there was music coming from the roof out of small holes, secondly every so often Yang would pull out a rectangular device and look through it before closing it and gazing out the window. When he looked out the window himself he noticed a few more things that made him question just where exactly he was. He saw several four wheeled, what looked to be vehicles, that had nothing pulling them along. The thing that surprised him most was the Ueta was not the only one with animal traits, there were several other people walking the streets with ears, tails, and other animal appendages. Owl then remembered the obvious question of his existence. He remembered dying to his sons blade, the feeling still leaving a phantom pain. As all of this ran through his head he zoned off and completely forgot about where he was. Owl was brought back to reality when Ueta noticed him deep in thought and gave his cloak a few tugs. Owl looked down at the girl, her eyes asking a silent question after his well being. He responded with a smile and a pat on the head. Ueta, satisfied with his answer, rested her head on her arms hoping to get a little sleep. Yang had also noticed he was deep in thought and also picked up on the way he had felt at his chest. "You alright big guy?" She said while putting away her device again. "Ah, yes my apologies, I've never been anywhere quite like here and so I lost myself in the sights and sounds" Owl replied casting another passing gaze out the window. Yang raised a curious brow and asked "Where did you come from before you ended up in Vale?" Ueta looked at Owl expectantly as she was equally curious about were he was before she found him in the forest. Owl considered telling her the truth for a moment as what good would lying do, but he knew that he needed to keep some tricks up his sleeve if he wanted to protect Ueta, plus if the Ashina or Inner Ministry were somehow still here and caught wind of his existence then they would most likely want to take revenge, therefor keeping that out would be wise. At the same time however Owl had no idea what to expect of this world, and he knew there wasn't much he could do to cover that up, and even if there was he wanted to know why to expect out of people who might want to harm Ueta and how he could make a living to provide a proper upbringing for Ueta. With all of that in mind began to Owl weave his tale. "I come from a primitive settlement a ways south of the forest, we were very stubborn in our ways and as such we didn't evolve as fast as everyone else, I left after the death of my son to find a new purpose, and I definitely found one" he said casting a glance to Ueta, who in turn gave him a smile and a soft reassuring gaze. "That's strange, I've never heard of a settlement bordering the south of the Emerald Forest" Yang said with a confused glance at Owl. "Then the worst has probably happened." Owl replies putting on a somber look. "We were in conflict with an opposing force, and last we heard they struck a deal for some advanced military weaponry, but I left before anything happened." Owl put his hands over his eyes and took a shaky breath in. He felt a pang of regret when he saw Ueta's sympathetic look, but he would tell her the truth in due time. Yang reached over the small restaurant table and put a hand on Owls shoulder as he wiped his eyes and met her gaze. She shot him a hopeful smile and Owl responded with one of his own. He then cleared his throat and stood up. "Well then if everyone's done their meal then I'd like to walk around for a while if that's alright." "That sounds good to me, maybe I can explain some things about modern society to you while we walk" Yang said getting up as well. Owl looked at Ueta and saw how tired she looked and so he picked her up and cradled her in his arms like the night he found her. They then made sure everyone had their things and set out. The Owl listening as the fighter told him about the world he was in as the Fox slept soundly in his arms.
