(Quick note: I usually don't do notes at the beginning but I'm curious on how my story was rated #1 for the Sekiro tag despite no one reading this story, crazy shit but anyway onto the chapter)

Once Owl stepped into the small town he immediately noticed a change in his surrogate daughter, who noticeably began to shrink into herself and started fearfully scanning the passing crowds. He took her hand in his and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He was no fool, she was afraid the people from the previous night would be looking for her. He doubted that their anger held that long for a petty thief. Even if it did Owl would make damn sure they wouldn't bother Ueta in any way. First however he needed to get her clothed and fed. The pair wondered through the settlement before approaching a small shop the sold bowls of noodles. The next issue Owl encountered was their immediate lack of currency, a problem he would solve later, but as of now his daughter needed warm clothes and food. So he prepared to do what he did best to feed him and his daughter. He stopped in front of the shop and turned to Ueta, kneeling to her level before speaking, "I'll need you to wait outside while I go in and get us food, please wait for me here and if any trouble arises call to me immediately, understood?" She nodded, and gave him a quick hug without saying a word. Owl was taken aback by the sudden embrace but he hugged back and gave a slight laugh. "I won't be gone long" he said as he stood and moved into the shop. Ueta sat with her back to the building as she waited for her father to... well she wasn't sure what he would do, only that he would comeback with food. Despite her now being under Owl's care she couldn't help but wonder where he came from. She had never seen anyone as big as him before, nor has she seen someone run as fast as he had. As her mind went from his strange attire to something he said in the forest, "I would love to try my hand at parenting again" it made her wonder who his other child is. While she was lost in thought with her knees in her arms, she failed to notice the two familiar men approaching her with looks of disdain. She suddenly felt something meet her face with enough force to send her face into the ground. "Thought you could show your face around here again animal?!" He spat with an angry sneer plastered on his face. She froze when she recognized the shopkeepers from last night, her body refused to obey and call for Owl. The other man looked about ready to attack when suddenly, "Hey!" Someone cried out from behind her, she turned to see a blonde woman with slightly revealing clothes and two yellow bracelets approaching with an angry glare in her lilac eyes. "Leave her alone" she spoke again putting herself between the two men and Ueta. As she was glaring down the men and them returning it with equal parts hatred and annoyance, Ueta had calmed down enough to follow the instruction given to her by her father. She cried out in pain. The men looked at her as the woman turned and went to her side clearly worried about Ueta's current condition. Owl emerged from the store hearing Ueta's call and quickly assessing the situation, he moved quickly and without hesitation, tripping one of the men catching him by the collar and throwing him at the other man effectively incapacitating them both. The blonde froze upon seeing the display, and raised her hands as a sign of peace. Owl looked her up and down decided she wasn't a threat, and moved to check on Ueta. "Are you hurt?" He asked her, the worry present in his eyes. She shook her head and stood up as Owl eyed her silently checking for injuries finding one in the form of a large bruise on her cheek. He put his thumb on her chin and turned her head to the side to look at it further. Once he was satisfied with her condition he turned to face the blonde who was waiting patiently for them to finish. "You have my thanks young lady, you've saved this old bird quite the scare" he said giving a small bow of gratitude as she stared at the very large man in front of her before regaining her composure. "It was nothing, helping people in need is kinda my job" she replied with a smile. Owl nodded, "Well you must allow me to express my gratitude with a meal" he spoke gesturing to the noodle store behind them. Her smile grew into a grin as she replied, "I'll gladly take you up on that." Owl gave a smile of his own as he opened the door for her. "Please feel free to order whatever you wish" he spoke as he and Ueta also entered the store. "That goes for you too Ueta" he spoke giving a pat on the girl's head. "Ah and where are my manners, I'm Usui Ukonzaemon, but everyone calls me Owl." He said, then gestured to the small girl next to him "And this little fox is Ueta Kitsunara, my adopted daughter." The girl in question gave a small wave at the blonde. "Owl and a fox huh?, you guys must be a real hoot" she spoke as Ueta internally groaned at the pun where as Owl gave a hearty laugh. "Hahaha, what sharp words, you remind me of an old friend who would tell jokes while great battles raged to keep spirits high" he said. "Finally someone who appreciates good humor" she said. "My name's Yang Xiao Long, it's nice to meet you both" she introduced with a smile. "Well now that introductions are done let's order shall we?" He spoke while approaching the counter shooting the man behind it a look to which the man replied by avoiding his gaze while sweating nervously. Owl got Ueta a large chicken noodle bowl while he and Yang got medium spicy beef. They sat and ate their food while a soft melody played over the restaurant speakers.

Chapter 3 done, I bet you wouldn't have expected a tie in this early, we'll they won't be together for too long and Yang will serve as a sort of tutorial for the new world Owl is in, because up until now he's had more pressing concerns. But all of that will be for next chapter so until then.

Adios,
