Whitney's POV
Lo's room was a mess. Clothes were thrown everywhere, drawers stuffed with even more clothes, cords all over, unmade bed, messy dresser, etc. I knew she had a problem with keeping her room clean, but wow.
I look over towards her desk finding her sitting there, "Hey, want to go on a walk?" I glance around again, still astonished by the mess.
"Sure, let me grab my jacket." She threw on a gray cropped sweater over her white crop top and lavender flowered skirt.
I looked at my outfit in her mirror that was in her room. I was wearing a light yellow sundress with white sneakers. My hair was up in a clip while some strands fell out onto my face. We had great fashion sense, I must say.
When she got her jacket and shoes on we headed out the door making our way to the park. The park wasn't very far from our house, only a couple of minutes. There was a pond to the right with a bunch of lilypads and flowers all around. In the many trees around, you could usually find kids attempting to climb them. Although there weren't many people out today, there's still some walking their dogs, old couples and new ones, photographers, families. All in all, they all looked so happy. So lively and joyous.
"So Whit, you've gotta boyfriend yet?" She asked nudging me with her elbow with a cheeky grin on her face.
I let out a chuckle and nudge her back. "Not yet," I answered linking our arms together, "What about you? Anyone special?"
"I have my eyes on someone," she states looking at the ground.
"What!? Oh, you have to tell me, Lo!" I tug on her arm, pulling her and many people around us to stop. After many odd looks, they eventually walk around us and continue on.
"You wouldn't know him but his name's Matthew, he goes to my school," She smiles like a lovesick schoolgirl. Which, I guess, she technically is.
"Ooh, what does he look like?" I link our arms again as we keep walking.
"Well, he has soft brown curly hair with dark brown eyes. Cute smile. He has dimples, by the way, such a plus. His lips are full and pretty much perfect," Her cheeks are now a shade of red and she is smiling like an idiot, "And don't even get me started on his jawline," She looks happy just thinking about him. I'm happy for her.
"Does he have a brother?," I wink at her.
She rolls her eyes with a smile, "Yeah he does. He's six,"
I elbow her in the stomach, "Haha, you're hilarious." I deadpan, "What's he like?"
"Did you not hear the part when I said he's six?" She asks incredulously, glancing at me with an odd face.
"I meant Matthew, you dork,"
"Oh, well he's super nice. Kind of has a bad boy vibe to him but he's not like that. He loves people and wouldn't hurt a fly. He's super family-oriented too," We stop at a bench and sit down watching everything around us.
I turn to her smiling, "He sounds like a great guy, Lor! Why haven't you asked each other out yet? I wanna meet my future brother-in-law!" I squeal, clapping my hands together excitedly.
She glares at me and shoves my shoulder, causing an unladylike laugh to escape my lips, "I'm not sure if he likes me like that, Whitney," She sighs, shoulders sagging. We tighten our jackets as a gush of wind spins around us.
"You never know 'til you ask. And what's the worst that can happen if he says no? Sure it might be a little awkward but if he's as great as you say, he won't make you feel any worse," I smile at her. She ponders it for a few minutes before an idea hits me, "Wait! What if..." I drag, getting her attention.
