The morning was rough. I refused to get up, and Lorretta had to slap me awake. I had online classes today, unfortunately.

I slowly get out of my warm bed dragging myself to the bathroom, brushing my teeth, hair, and going to the bathroom. I'll just take a shower after breakfast. I look in the mirror to make sure I look decent enough and head downstairs. I could hear rustling in the kitchen and walked towards it.

When I got there Mom was packing her lunch for her work. My mother works 2 jobs to provide. She had an amazing job when my dad was still alive but she got fired because they didn't need as many workers, and she was slacking, for obvious reasons. They thought it would be best for their business.

When my dad died, my mom became super depressed and turned the only thing she could think of. Alcohol. She would spend all the money that we had on it, while she was unemployed for 2 years. She went downhill, and trust me we've tried anything to get her back on track. My mother has never been the perfect mother, but she tries, it's just hard for her and we understand that.  She did lose the love of her life after all. We would always go to dad for most things, like money or a ride, but since he passed, she had to take on that responsibility. She also had to deal with me and Lorretta being heartbroken over dad as well. She did as well as she could and we will always appreciate her for it.

So after a while she finally got a job offer and it was good but not good enough to pay off our bills, so she got another one. She is a secretary for a small company and an accountant. As you can tell, she loves numbers, very helpful when it comes to math homework.

You're probably wondering why a 20-year-old college student is still living at home with her mother and little sister. Usually, all kids would want to leave after high school. Well, my mother still doesn't have enough to pay off the bills. So I part-time work at the library and I volunteer at a home health aid in town to help as much as I can. Plus, I love doing it. And it's not like I can leave my family after what happened. They need help too and I will always be there for them. So that's why I do online school and still live at home. It's not the best solution but it's all we could do.

I walk up to my mom and kiss her cheek and walk to the fridge to get a glass of milk. "Morning mom,"

"Morning sweetie," She tells me while continuing on her sandwich.

"Where's Lo?" I asked.

"She already went to school. I'm about to leave too," She looks at her watch. "In five minutes actually,"

"Okie dokie artichokie," I smile at her and put the milk back in the fridge, going to sit at our small island after.

"Oh, by the way, Whit, we are gonna go into town for dinner, does that sound okay to you?"

"Yeah, I'm good with that," I nod and watch her. She nods as well and puts the meat she had out away.

"How's school, honey?" She looks up and smiles.

"It's okay, slow and difficult but I'm trying. Although I probably could be doing better..." I confess. I'm in my second year of college and I'm going for psychology.

"Well I'm not going to yell at you, but if you know you could be doing better, then get on it, young lady!" She narrows her eyes at me with a glint in her eyes.

"Yes, ma'am," I salute her, feeding into the mischief of our family, and let out a little laugh.

She chuckles too, "What class do you have today?" She asks sitting next to me.

"AP Psych," I frown.

"Oh poor baby," She chuckles again then looks at the clock. "Crap I'm late." She picks up her bag and her lunch and rushes to the door to get her shoes on. She yanks the door open and shouts "I love you have a great day and have fun in class! Bye, Whit!" And with that, she's out the door, tripping over her own feet.

Let's be honest here, I may be an almost fully grown woman, but I'm scared to be alone. I have been my whole life. I don't know why but I don't think I'm getting over it soon. That's also another reason I still live with my family.

I put my empty cup in the sink and think about what to eat for breakfast.

I decided that cereal sounds amazing right now so I grab Cheerios and make some.

After I was done with my breakfast head into my room, tripping up the stairs on the way. I grab clothes and go to my bathroom for a shower. I turn the water on hot and get 2 towels from the closet. I strip off my clothes and step into the shower, letting the hot water scald my back. I might sound crazy, but it's by far the best feeling.

After my relaxing shower, I dry off and put on my clothes. My outfit is black sweatpants, a gray crop top, and Nike socks. I hang up my towels and walked into my room going to my mirror to deal with my hair. After that I put my earrings on that I took out before I showered.

I walked to my desk opening my computer and open all the tabs I need for class. Here we go again.

After I've finished all my classes I went to the living room to watch gossip girl for a few hours, and that's where I am now. A loud door slams open, scaring the life out of me. I look at the door and see my sister walking into the room, smoke practically coming out of her ears. She drops her bag next to the couch and I lift my arm so she can sit down next to me.

"What happened, Lo?" I asked as she puts her head on my shoulder with a groan. I paused the show so I can pay attention to her.

"I hate school, I hate people, I hate everyone," she says.

"Why?"

"Tyler."

"What about him?"

"He made me get detention! You won't even believe what happened!" She shouts, then grounds out right after, "Guess what he did." she says looking up at me.

"Hm, I don't know, what?" I stare at her amused about the upcoming outburst.

"He glued Mrs. Johnson's hands on the desk so she was stuck for a while and he blamed it on me and trust me I've tried telling her it wasn't me but she didn't want to believe me, not one bit. She wouldn't even listen, Whit! She was all like, 'You're so disrespectful', 'Wait until the principal hears about this!, blah blah blah, LIKE I CARE! Ugh! I hate him!"

"I'm sorry, Lo," I try to hold back my laugh.

"It's okay, It's not your fault," She sighs.

"I know and he's an asshole."

"Tell me about it." I could tell she was rolling her eyes after she said that.

"You know what," I say thinking of the best revenge on him.

"What?" She sits up looking at me.

"You should get the whole school on this and you should get everyone to say it's opposite gender clothes day and he has to do it, it's for charity and when he shows up to school everyone is in their normal clothes and he wearing a dress or something," I tell her.
[A/n: No offense to anyone! This's is just for the story!]

"You. Are. A. Genius! Ah thank you, Whitney, you're the best." She says hugging me. She grabs her bag and runs upstairs. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say she's planning it right now.

A few hours later my mom comes home and right now she's telling me about her day.

"Brian was being a jerk all day today." My mom says while sitting on the couch.

"Oh fun," I was listening but I'm paying more attention to the show.

"Anyway, we better get ready we have to leave in 20 minutes. Can you go tell you're sister to get ready and be down here in 15 please?" She gets up and walks to her bedroom. Her bedroom is downstairs while mine and Lo's are upstairs.

"Sure, Momma," I turn off the tv and walked upstairs knocking on Lo's door.
