Y/n POV
That morning, El sat on the couch fiddling with Mike's walkie talkie.
"Alright, so we'll just tell our parents we have AV Club after school, that should give us a little time at least." Mike told us. "What did you all bring?"
Lucas set his bag on the table. "Binoculars, army knife, hammer, camo bandana, and," Lucas held up a slingshot. "The wrist-rocket."
Dustin snorted. "You're going to take out the Demogorgon with a slingshot?"
"It's not a slingshot, it's a wrist-rocket. And there is no such thing as a Demogorgon. But, if there is anything, then we'll have defense. What did you two bring?"
I held up the contents of my bag one by one. "I brought a map of the town because why not, my compass as usual, my walkie talkie, army knife, a couple of granola bars, my pepper spray, and that's it."
"Pepper spray?" Lucas questioned.
"Hey, it can blind people, trust me, it hurts!" I defended.
"Dustin, what about you?" Mike shook his head at us two and turned to Dustin.
Dustin dumped his bag on the table. "Alright, so we got Nutty Bars, Bazooka, PEZ, Smarties, Pringles, Nilla Wafers, apple, banana, and trail mix."
"Really?" I raise an eyebrow at Dustin and shake my head.
"Hey, we need energy for our travels, for stamina, and besides, why do we need weapons when we have her. And Y/n, you can control people's minds. Here, I bet she could make this thing fly." Dustin walks over to Mike's Millennium Falcon toy.
He holds it in front of El. "Alright, ready?" Dustin drops the Falcon. "Let's try again, okay." He picks it up and drops it again.
"Dude, stop. She shut one door." Lucas scolds.
"With her mind!" Dustin argues.
"Kids! Time for school!" Karen yells down the stairs.
Lucas and Dustin grab their school bags and dash up the stairs.
Me and Mike go over to El. "Bye, El. I'll see you after school, okay?" I give her a hug.
"You know the power lines behind my house?" Mike asks El.
"Power lines?" El stops and thinks for a second. "Yes."
"Meet us there after school. 3:15." Mike says.
"Y/n! Micheal! School!" Karen yells.
"Coming!" Mike screams back over his shoulder.
Mike turns back to Eleven. "Here, when the numbers read 3-1-5, meet us out back." Mike puts his watch on El's wrist.
"3-1-5." El repeats, looking at the watch.
"Bye, El." Me and Mike say, then we sprint for the stairs and finish getting ready for school.
I'm too lazy to write about how Hopper investigates the lab to make sure Will isn't there, so here's a time skip to when Eleven is at Mike's house, and everyone is gone.
Third person POV, El's exploration of the house
Eleven sits in the basement, making the Millennium Falcon fly around above her head. She sets it down and turns back to the walkie. She gets the impulsive urge to go upstairs and look around.
Her feet silently pound against the wooden boards on the main floor. She goes into the living room and sits on the Ottoman.
She rocks back and forth for a minute, and then sees the phone. She picks it up and looks at it for a minute, before setting it down and walking over to the TV.
