Christopher's room was a weird shade of yellow. Not quite yellow enough to be called yellow. It looked like what happened to white wall if you smoke continuously in the room. He didn't smoke and he didn't know anyone who did. The more he looked at it though the more he saw her eyes. He had a desk that was scratched to hell and a double bed that was hard but still soft enough for him to sleep. His wardrobe was fine, the only thing in this room that he had built himself. He had a dew odd bits he had brought from home but not a lot, he had to travel light in those days. He kicked his shoes off and lay back onto the bed. He touched the switch above his pillow and the room went black. Sighing he replayed the meeting with Elijah.

"Fuck sake."

And he fell asleep. The only place humans were truly free to emotion these last 30 years were in their dreams. Throughout history the only place a human was actually free was asleep because you didn't have waking problems any more, the real life you have didn't matter. Christopher once had a dream but now he wasn't sure it was a dream at all.

Themi and Makis sat on the floor holding each other as she sobbed silently. He wished he had other clothes that weren't grey. The fact Themi cried tears of gold would have impressed any human but Makis had seen them frequently. He had spent a good ten years drying her eyes. Ruining many of his grey clothes in the process.

"Themi."

She pushed off him gently and started wiping her eyes.

"I'm sorry. I've done it again."

She played with the lapel of his jacket. He shrugged it off and threw it to the side.

"The fucking suit doesn't matter. You do."

"Who do I matter to Makis?"

"Me, for a start."

Themi smiled. Then she stood stretching her tense muscles.

"That's kind of you to say so Makis."

"I'm not saying it to be kind. You are my baby sister and you are very important to me."

He stood and whispered;

"I may even like you more than Keahi."

She gasped playfully.

"He is your twin! You awful, awful sibling!"

"Well if I said I loved him it would be a tad vain don't you think?"

She smiled now, her eyes finally feeling less weak.

"No. You're better put together for a start."

They laughed. Juni had strolled pasted the room and caught the giggles from them. She didn't feel any kind of grief she had felt from them last night. She had brushed the grief off as an aftershock of Keahi's actions. She had noticed how close the siblings were, in the past Makis and Themi hid how fond of each other they were. They had secrets and Juni didn't like it. She knew secrets caused downfall and she didn't intend on handing the Earth back over anytime soon. She got to the living room and saw Keahi. He was quieter than usual but she wasn't going to speak to him. Keahi couldn't take the silence. He could feel a slight flicker of anger when Juni had saw him, guessing it was about his performance last night he kept his mouth shut. His hands had slightly bruised so he must have hit that human harder than he thought. He heard a door shut and another open. Makis seemed to just appear in the living room bringing his usual cold air with him. It actually made Keahi shiver. He didn't like having his twin mad at him, not like this.

"Makis..."

"No."

Juni came out of the kitchen and looked at Makis, hard. Makis just watched her looking at him. Juni heard the shower start and then finally blinked. Makis wasn't wearing a jacket. Juni had noticed nothing about the golden stain he kept slightly covered with his arm.

"Yes?"

"Lesser in the shower?"

"Yes, Themi is in the shower."

Juni went back into the kitchen and Makis followed leaving his twin alone. Keahi sighed. He had done this but he sure as hell wasn't going to pretend like he didn't have a fantastic time creating this atmosphere. He looked at his hands and grinned. Makis hid the side with the stain on from Juni. He stood so sure of himself that Juni didn't question him.

"How is she?"

"Why the sudden concern?"

He poured himself a glass of water. Juni was just standing in the kitchen to be away from Keahi.

"Sudden? She is my sister too."

"A sister you are suddenly now showing concern for."

"She can't keep herself together can she."

"Ah, so not concern for her but for yourself."

"Who else is going to care for me if not myself?"

Makis looked at her. In their whole life he had never felt the faintest flicker of fear from Juni. She was always so sure of herself. She had no reason to be self conscious, not like Themi, she was the oldest she set the way for her siblings never fearing if she did it right.

"I don't think you would ever let anyone show concern for you or care about your welfare anyway."

"No one ever has. What do I care?"

"You don't. Not about us anyway."

He drained his glass of all remaining water and turned to leave.

"Why should I have cared about any of you?"

"Because our parents didn't."

And he left. Juni picked up the glass he had just put down and threw it at the wall. He was right their parents had never cared, they even lumbered them with precious little Themi. Themi had stepped out the shower to hear the faint sound of breaking glass. She jumped a little and then remembered the nature of her siblings. Passion ruled even when they thought they were void of it. As she was drying her hair she suddenly felt light headed and all she could see were those eyes. They weren't in the face of the man she had saw but in the face of a boy. They looked too big for him but they were the same eyes. Then she remembered the boy.
