As Makis led her away Themi felt cold, but not because of Makis' arm around her, although he was cold. She couldn't explain it. That man, the bold man who dared to meet her eye. His friend was in trouble and she could feel it. The injustice caused by her brother. She fell to her knees. She felt Makis try to quickly grasping at her falling shoulder.
"Makis I can't!"
He knelt in front of her, he was slightly kneeling on her dress. He heard the material shift between his knees. Her golden eyes shone brighter as gold spilt onto her cheeks. She was crying. He felt it, the flicker in her heart, but it was different than before. As much as it could his cold heart went out for her. She looked so small and so frightened.
"You can."
She balled her hands to the sides of her head. His voice was so soft but that only added to her pain.
"I can feel it! It hurts!"
He gently pulled her hands away. He could feel it too. He could feel the fear of every human out there while his stupid twin fought with a mortal man and his sister Juni either added to this or tried to stop it. He could feel it pull and twist his insides. He could feel them grow colder. They felt like steel freezing his stomach.
"So can I."
"Make it stop! Makis make it stop please!"
The pleading in her voice made him feel colder. He hugged her, knowing full well he would just suck her body heat away but, she needed him. She liked him and in his strange way he liked her.
"You know, you're going to ruin my suit."
She laughed softly and pushed her head into his chest.
"I'll buy you a new one."
"I don't need a new one. I need you to be stronger than this."
She looked up at Him. His grey eyes held sorrow but not for the humans out there. The sorrow was for her.
Juni watched as Keahi punched and punched this insignificant human. The man's face was a mess and he could barely stand. Juni had tried to pull him off the man but nothing would stop him now. Keahi was holding him up whilst handing down devastating blows. The humans surrounded her fled in terror. She looked to the thrones to notice her other siblings were gone. Keahi was laughing while blood splashed back onto his face."THAT IS ENOUGH!"
Juni shouted causing everyone around her to stop, some ever drew back with wide eyed fear. Keahi looked at her and then smirked. His gaze slid back to the man he was holding by the scruff of the front of his corse shirt.
"Do you know why I did this?"
The man's head could barely support its own weight and lolled to the side.
"Do you know why I did this?"
"No!"
Keahi leaned closer to the man as if to whisper but still kept his voice at the same level so everyone around could hear.
"I've just given you a real reason to hate yourself. You should be thanking me."
He let go and the thud the man made when he fell to the floor was sickening. Keahi looked around at the borderline traumatised humans around him. He only felt two flickers of anger. The strongest coming from his sister while the second came from one of the humans that caught his little sisters eye. Keahi laughed while examining his bloody and bruised knuckles. He straightened his jacket and looked at his captive audience.
"Welcome to the show!"
Juni grabbed him by the least bloodied part of his jacket and led him through the crowd. People parted quickly and quietly. He smiled the whole way she dragged him. The humans had a word that even Juni would use to describe her brother. He was a prick. He was a stupid prick. She dragged him past the thrones into a back room the siblings relaxed in when they were sick of watching humans. Themi and Makis were already there. Juni threw Keahi on the nearest chair, he almost cleared it with the amount of force she put into pushing him.
"And where did you two go!?"
Themi and Makis looked at each other. He had felt calmer tuning out the humans fear but again he felt Themi's. He knew if Juni knew she had been crying, if she had been weak, there would be more of a problem than there already was. Makis' cold air had seemed to cool Keahi down.
"It was just a bit of fun Juni, chill for a minute will you."
He looked at his twin.
"No offense ice man."
Keahi winked at him but Makis rolled his eyes however both he and Themi were glad Juni's rage had been re-directed to the right sibling. Makis slyly covered the spot where Themi's golden tears had fell onto his suit and lifted his long finger to his lips to tell her not to say anything. She took this message and watched her other two siblings while without anything noticeable happening took hold of Makis' arm in her small hand.
"Would you care to explain that little episode?"
Keahi shrugged.
"ARE YOU STUPID?"
"No."
"Are you sure? Clearly something is wrong with you!"
"I'm the god of anger what do you expect?"
"Oh I don't know a little self control you stupid prick!"
As Juni got louder Keahi shrunk more into his seat becoming less emboldened and confident. Juni's eyes never left him, not they would notice much if they did.
"Now who's going native."
"What was that?"
"You. Using their words."
"At least I'm not beating them half to death in a crowded club!"
Themi shrunk back now and tightened her grip on Makis' arm. He leaned more into her grip to comfort her without Juni seeing. He took in the scene. The room had the same deep red wallpaper that the club had but instead of thrones there were black plush chairs and two sofas. The soft lighting didn't cushion Themi from the bloody view of Keahi. It all went quiet while Juni fumed. Keahi got up to look at himself in the wall dedicated to mirrors. His suit was ruined. The heat of the moment, the fun and excitement, had gone cold. Maybe it was the fact Juni had shouted at him and made him feel so small. He grimaced at the reflection. He would have glared at Juni if he had the balls, but he didn't. Not now. Themi still held Makis' arm while Juni paced. Makis tried to offer as much comfort as he could without directly looking at Themi.
"Let's go home."
Juni looked Keahi up and down.
"After you've cleaned yourself up a bit. Stupid prick."
