Chapter 14-
A few days later it was finally the night of the charity event. The two of them hadn't done anything substantial in that time. It was around seven pm and the two had already finished their preparations.
Starling was looking stunning as ever, wearing the sparkling green dress she had bought she matched the golden stars with the same shade of shimmery eyeshadow. She wore simple gold jewelry to accentuate the dress. Her hair was in a messy Dutch braid with curls framing her face. The dress covered her tattoo so there was no need to apply makeup to it.
What people couldn't see was that under her dress she had three covered daggers, all drenched in poison. Of course they had an antidote prepared for themselves in case either of them were to be subjected to said poison. That was kept in Elliots jacket pocket.
Elliot was also dressed up to match the theme, all thought not as spectacular as Star. He wore a simple black tux with a matching colored tie and pocket square, the same green shade as Starling's dress. Somehow she had convinced him to put gold shimmery gel in his hair, so he would match her even more. It looked perfect with his curls, though he would never admit it.
Elliot was also armed, along with the antidote in his jacket pocket he carried two small knives also laced with poison. He had decided against bringing his normal weapon of choice, a simple pistol, seeming that would draw too much attention to them.
They walked out of the hotel and got into a town car as the driver asked their location of choice.
Elliots hand rested along Star's clothed thigh as they drove the fifteen minutes it took to reach the event. They had to wait another five while other couples took their turns getting out and walking the carpeted sidewalk into the grande hotel.
It was finally their turn and similarly to their first mission Elliot got out and walked around the car to open the door for Star and offer her his arm. She took it with a smile and walked in. It was a similar experience to their first gala until Elliot suddenly pulled her close and whispered in her ear,
"You look absolutely stunning tonight."
These sweet words brought a blush upon Starling's face and she reached up to kiss his cheek in response. Then they walked in.
They walked throughout the beautifully decorated room and admired the room. Staying true to the gem theme there were brilliant reds, greens and blues intricately tied in with the sheer decorations.
The room sparkled and came to life as the other people showed up in their glamorous gowns. Starling's eyes lit up at the sight in front of her.
She looked around in awe and Elliot simply watched her, deciding she was a better view than their surroundings.
He watched her eyes sparkle and he hesitantly pulled her away to find their seats. They sat there for what seemed like forever listening to speech after speech thanking the people for their donations. In the first fifteen minutes the pair had already scooped out their targets so now they were just bored.
