Chapter 2- the gala

Tonight was the night of the gala, and Starling was as focused as could be. She had already bought her dress; it was a gorgeous scarlet red with jewels all along the top, a deep v-line cut, and a slit for easy access to her knife she will have hidden on her thigh. The dress was quarter sleeved length and backless. With her hair in dark curls and golden shadow on her eyes, she looked absolutely striking.

She placed her earpiece in making sure to pair it with eye-catching earrings to tear away suspicious eyes. She placed two daggers along her left thigh and another along her right calve. She placed a small gun with tranquilizing bullets loaded into her small clutch. She gave herself a once over in the mirror and left.

Just down the street Elliot began his preparations as well. He showered, shaved, then put on a fresh suit and tie. He put a small amount of product in his hair, spritzed a little bit of cologne and decided that was enough.

He next went on to a task he enjoyed much more, choosing his guns. He picked out two guns and put one in his left side of his jacket in a secret pocket he has in all of his suits. He put the other gun on his right hip along his V-line for it to be more concealed. He finished his set up with a knife in his sock and three tranquilizer syringes in his coat pocket.

He took a car to the gala getting there ten minutes before it officially started, giving him plenty of time to scope out the guests. It was relatively boring until fifteen minutes later someone interesting finally walked in.

She was absolutely stunning, strutting in with confidence Elliot has never seen before. She was wearing a bright red dress with dark, flowing curls cascading down her back, her skin was glowing and her smile was truly a sight to behold. Elliot felt his stomach flutter for half a second before it dropped completely as he remembered her.

The girl with the spider tattoo.

The dangerous as hell, not to be trusted girl.

He had to watch out for her.

Starling was at the gala for a total of thirty minutes before the Prince arrived. She could hear through her ear piece that two of her associates had already retrieved the stolen crowns and four more had already taken down the Keem family. Starling smiled at this news, she did had always had a hunger for revenge.

She looked across the room to see three more spiders with the Cornell family, who were waiting to make their move and the final two were at the front and back entrance keeping watch.

"The Prince has arrived." Starling hears through her ear piece. This immediately woke every nerve in her body as she prepared herself for the plan. She was going to get close to him, lure him away and make her move. As she looked to the door she saw him walk in. He looked about twenty five, blonde hair elegantly slicked back, he was tall, maybe about six foot. She fixed her hair and went over to him, walking towards him like a predator approaching prey.

"Why hello there" Said the Prince as she approached.

"Hello to yourself, Your Highness" She said, making sure to be a flirty as possible.

They continued a bit of small talk along with introductions, she noticed the prince's eyes had some trouble staying on hers, his eyes kept dropping down to stare at her cleavage, she normally would be appalled but she had to keep up her act. She must finish her mission.

Elliot saw the prince arrive and was heading over to him until a familiar red dress crossed in front of his eyes. 'So this is why she's here' He thought to himself. He watched as she talked to him, batting her eyelashes, pushing her chest out and giggling like a schoolgirl. It was obvious what she was doing, and more so that he was playing right into her hand. He had to do something.
