At night,"I assure you I will do my best and won't give you a chance to regret your decision, Mister... I mean, Miss. Maheshwari"
I can't stop recalling his hasty answers. He was just too nervous to show what he was capable. I have seen the glint of confidence in his eyes and that straightforwardness on his face, but in front of me he was helpless.
"Wo bohot cute tha. Can a guy really be so cute?" I dug my face in the pillow and tried to hide my blush.
I can't stop thinking about him. It is past twelve noon and I am still recalling that interview session. The way he smiled and raised his eyebriws feeling jittery aas amazing.
He is not at fault though as he thought it was my father whom he was going to get interviewed by. What he didn't know was that my father made me the co-ceo of the company. That's true I handle this branch of his company, I ain't so popular as my father because nobody has ever seen me.
I do hold my fathers surname but not the happiness of being called as his daughter. No paparazzi never huddled around me nor a photographer clicked my photo as I have only been invisible in the eyes of the world. For everyone it is my father who handles this company. So it is no surprise to see Manik not knowing anything about me. Like everyone else, he came here assuming to get interviewed by my father and ended being shocked as it wasn't him but his unrecognized daughter the Ceo here.
I don't blame anyone of them, my father never made it public that I was the CO-CEO of his company. That is because he never found the need of doing. He wouldn't do it ever because I forcefully took this position for myself.
Dad didn't want to give me a share of his company. He wanted me to pursue designing but I forecfully learned business and entered his office. I did internship under him for two months in order to prove my capability.
I proved myself so well that dad couldn't do anything else than welcoming me in his company. However, he made sure he kept all the popularity and fame while I worked as an unrecognized CEO in this San Francisco branch while he stays in India alone.
I used to care about him unless he ditched me. Yep, my father ditched me. This happened during that time when I saw manik for the first time. I couldn't find him anywhere and thought on seeking his help. When I told my father about Manik and asked for his help, he replied me with some of the harshest words I had ever heard, "Don't try to find him and let him prosper in his life, nandini. Kisi ladke ki zindagi mat barbad karo just because tumhe wo pasand aa gya h. Yeh hum dono jante h tumhe wo pyaar karne k nhi balke khudko pyaar karwane k liye chahiye. You just want him to comfort you and hold you like a baby, and make up for all the love you've craved till now."
I remember how much I have cried then! My own father called me as a destruction and suggested me to stop finding him. He thought it was for the guy's betterment that I didn't find him. He thought I just wanted him for myself. He is not wrong either. I do want him for me but not as a crazy lover whom I want to comfort me. But I want him as a life partner whom I want to take me away with him from this crazy stupid world that has made me cry for years.
"I know you'll take me out of this miserable world. I just can't wait to for it, Manik." I thought with my heavy sleepy teary eyes, looking at the ceiling.
Tbc...
