Day 16
Thursday, 16th December
3:15 AM
The door to his apartment slams open, revealing a cozy and rather tidy place. A startled kitten stretches itself before making its way over to the two legs that she loved to rub on the most.
Killua's eyes were dark, filled with a type of emotion that you couldn't really pinpoint. Yet once again, the depths of his orbs never faltered you. You would be glad to swim beneath even the toughest of tides to reach the bottom of those blues. You would tell him that one day, but that too would have to wait.
The living space was connected to a cozy little bedroom to the right and a tiny kitchen to the left. He pauses beside his bed before sitting you down, soft, timid movements never failing to make your heart swell. A frown takes over your relaxed features at the contrasting chill of the bed to his warmth.
You avoid his eyes as he adjusts a pillow behind you, tilting your head back to relieve your bleeding nose.
"Try not to move your head, I'll be back." He mumbles before disappearing into the kitchen and reappearing with an ice pack, handing it to you. You push it flush against your bruised cheek, relishing in the cold relief it provided.
Killua pulls a chair out from the desk beside and takes a seat, facing the wall before you. Whether it was to avoid your gaze and any further awkwardness or just a trivial gesture, you didn't really know.
A few moments pass as you relish in the silence, the only sound coming from the timepiece causing no annoyance to either of you. The curtains were pulled back, letting the warm moonlight seep into the room, proving as the only source of light in the dark apartment. Your mind drifts on about how you were going to begin. In a way that it all made sense to him.
The hand holding the ice pack to your cheek slowly falls, placing it on the desk. The silverette's gaze follows your movements before looking back away. You do the same, taking a deep breath before starting.
"I grew up in an orphanage, having no memory of my parents at all. The place was not lavish, but they did feed us thrice a day. Providing basic education along with that..." You start low, knowing well that he would be able to hear through the piercing silence of the room.
"Got out of there when I was seventeen, a weird sense of wanting to independent was to blame. I had started taking up random jobs, soon got a student loan to pay for my higher education along with that, but you know how that goes..." Killua exhales heavily, letting you know that he was listening.
"And then came that dreadful day..." Your voice lowers and he turns to look at you, knowing that you were going to tell him something you've dreaded to this very day.
"I was on my way to our shared apartment, my friend Mia would usually accompany me but she couldn't on that day. Quite convenient for him..."
"I was kidnapped, falling victim to his carnal desires, and left unconscious in an alleyway the next morning." Your gaze flits away from the wall, tears lining your eyes as you hold them back. Killua's features soften at this, not wanting to push you any further, but it was your decision to let him know. Your decision to do the bare minimum of thanking him by at least letting him in on the truth.
"Wasn't long after that that I found out I was pregnant. No matter how much I hated it, I still couldn't stand the idea of taking a life. So I fought it all, the constant nausea, the never-ending headaches, and cravings that couldn't be fulfilled... All of it. Till I finally gave birth..." A tiny smile appears on your face at the thought of holding your child for the first time.
